81  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: (Ring of Death) Spike in Death rates on: May 16, 2007, 06:44:28 PM
With ps2 I have no failure rates on newer models I rather have a influx of people buying them to be modded.
Yeh, Sony dumped their ps2 70002 quickly when it started blowing lasers and redesigned their boards. M$ needs to do the same quickly but no real evidence of this has not been seen.
82  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: BEWARE - OPA / Games in the Beaches on: May 13, 2007, 06:51:47 PM
Dude if you PS2 is working then he might have just mixed up the cases. I would be pissed if the machine was not reading disks or was faulty. I bet if anything was to go wrong with it he would be more than happy to sort it for you as you dont have warranty. I have mixed up the bottoms before but the owner always has his motherboard and laser. I have had the odd mod go to $#!t on me and have always replaced it with a newer one. There is no benefit for swapping parts these days. Get over it and enjoy your console. If it was modified, the lawyers wont touch you as this could be used against you.

Our launch was Feb last year and now seeing the true extent of the problem. My 360 is still running fine but it is a June 06, has a xcm fan and has not been in the case since I have owned it. I know that I most likely only have several months left but hope for the best. I have seen my model breaking down lately as well...

Warning: If mine dies action will have to be taken through the local media....as I have a large group of people wanting to vent their anger!!!
84  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: (Ring of Death) Spike in Death rates on: May 10, 2007, 07:49:27 AM
All my friends list start from launch and everyday the past week they are dropping like flies. I know each machine and the manufacture date and I predicted they would die and they have each day this week. The public have been increasing with enquires for repair in the past month. Just I'm a little surprised with the sudden increase and is really concerning. I have told each person to demand warranty from M$ as it is a growing problem. Half still have warranty and others just outside the one year.

I not a alarmist or have ever flamed the 360 in anyway before, always a loyal supporter and have converted many people to the original xbox & the 360. But this just can't keep going on in this direction.

The funniest thing is I have a regular flow of Ps2 slimlines each day.

I dont know if it just me but this month has seen a huge amount of early & late model 2006 360s $#!tting themselves. I have had a lot of enquiries for repair and stickers for warranty. I have been joking to my mates that their machines are about to die and they actually do the next day. Soon they say to me that they have frozen up they drop off a day or so later. I have just been giving out the xbox repair service phone number for the past couple of weeks solid. I want nothing to do with M$ crappy manufacturing!!

Its no longer a joke but a fact about the lifespan of the 360 8 -15 months. I dont know how long M$ are prepared to replace thousands of machines without effecting their business profit margin.

Has anyone noticed the higher amount of death rates recently?
86  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: Spring update Bugs & 360 weird behaviour on: May 10, 2007, 04:40:09 AM

87  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Spring update Bugs & 360 weird behaviour on: May 09, 2007, 07:02:05 PM
After the update have been experiencing some weird problems randomly. I have noticed now that my wireless controller sometimes does not switch on my 360 which it never had problems doing before. I have been playing arcade pinball for the past week without any problems and twice today the 360 has switched itself off and rebooted during play WTF. I dont know it it has anything to do with the update but I have never had these issues before the update. Huh If weird things keep occuring I will post them..Yes plugged into live at the time....
88  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: Spring update released! on: May 09, 2007, 05:11:09 AM
Hi from Australia, No problems after update with 5.2a firmware still play back-ups and multi play on live. They may have the power down the track to ban ppl but who knows. With their huge manufacturing problems I think they wont be do anything real soon to give Sony or Nintendo the upper hand.

cheers!!
89  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Hitachi 0079FK (new drive) M$ warranty swap policy on: April 13, 2007, 10:15:53 PM
For at least the past 2 months every drive that has gone in for warranty has had the drive swapped with the Hitachi 0079FK. I'm talking about 15 systems I have dealt with personally all come back with these drives in Austalia. They are ending up on ebay dumping ground as thats where we put them  Grin.
90  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Ms28 fail to erase chip on: April 08, 2007, 11:03:52 PM
Hi,

I have done many ms28a in the past eithout any problems using vcc trick with via. Every time I try to write to the chip it keeps coming up with crr fail to erase chip. It dumps the fw without any problems but cannot write back. I have never had any problems in the past. I use MTKflash 1.3c. I get the same message when I try to erase it as well.

I would love to see Gigabyte be banned for a short time, just to give everyone a break. Gees, we all know he lives for this site, Checks it every hour or so thinking he is part of the elite hacking team. I bet he is some 20 something plus dude, does xbox upgrades or repairs from his home and thinks he is part of the big picture. Man it is good to help others, but you have become a little obsessed. You need just to turn off your computer get out of your house and get yourself laid. I know you are trying to prove something and build your profile as a hacker but your not.  Undecided Dont take it the wrong way and hang yourself just take a break and get some friends.
92  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Repairing ms25 Drive on: December 07, 2006, 06:05:37 AM
Excellent work. I thought it might work as both elte ram chips had 100mhz, but I already took the eprom off the sammy as I wanted to play with a willem. But a least it has been proven to work. Wink
93  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Completey F'ed up VCC Solder on: December 05, 2006, 11:55:19 AM
Just take it to someone with good soldering and trace recovery experience. By looking at your attempt you need a little more practice or just stay away from soldering $#!t for good.

94  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Repairing ms25 Drive on: December 05, 2006, 11:30:56 AM
I looked into that but no luck finding the correct parts and also got told it was too expensive to source individually. mt elite ram chips are on older xbox original drives and dvd roms but competely different i think. Just try and source dead rom boards would be the best way for parts.
95  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: is my samsung ts-h943 ms25 dead on: December 04, 2006, 08:29:53 AM

sammy Bad flash with intel chipset.Type; Mtkflash w /m /sata orig.bin   I use this to recover from bad flash on ms25. You might have to type this a couple of times or a few reboots of your pc until the sata port gets recognised. If you could read and write before then this will work.
96  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Repairing ms25 Drive on: December 04, 2006, 07:58:34 AM
Fixed one today for a customer which got a 360 off ebay by mistake that had a burnt out ram MT chip. I removed the eprom and extracted the key with the willem. I got a brand new sammy ms25 off ebay from Hong Kong. I'm happy to receive eprom chips and read the key and email them back to people. This is the best solution if you dont have spare drives for parts. Location Brisbane Australia

It will be interesting to see the new xecuter chip solution for the 78 and how it functions. You guys really should put a chip together to reap some reward for all your firmware hardwork. Seems everyone else cashes in on all the work you guys have done.
98  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: ms25 Elite MT fried chip, can it be replaced? on: November 20, 2006, 12:53:13 AM
Finished extracting the ms25 eprom from the mobo. Can I send this to someone who has a willem and they can email back the key if is still there. I really dont want to go out and purchase one if the chip is buggered.
99  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: ms25 Elite MT fried chip, can it be replaced? on: November 17, 2006, 12:55:47 AM
thanks for filling me in,  have learnt something. I will then get the hot air gun out and extract the eeprom flash instead and attempt to get the key with a programmer. Really appreciate the quick response and expert knowledge base.

cheers

NO I'm talking about the Ms25 dvd-rom drive board, there is a chip called Elite MT near the sata connector.
