Just wanted to check if anyone has successfully copied either of these games (pal/aus version) successfully?

I have backed up 3/4 the titles that are out with same setup (latest schtrom and kreon). I am using a Pioner dru-700 burner, and a sammie drive. So i might have to invest in a dvr-111 if others have successfully copied these games.

Thanks,

7  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / M$ searching for upgraders on: October 12, 2006, 04:10:49 AM
In australia its not yet illegal to provide a service of upgrading/modding a device to defeat copy protection. (1 jan 07, i understand they will bring in a new law against owning or installing/performing mods)

So with the law on my side i advertised that i will perform upgrades to consoles in australia (for legal use only ofcourse). Ive been tracking site visits to see where visitors enter from, ie, google, classfieds, etc. and scrolling through i noticed the following entry.

Location, Washington, Redmond, United States
Hostname, tide526.micro$oft.com (131.107.0.96)

So a heads up to anyone else that might be adverising or planning on advertising, watch out, as m$ is doing a bit of research.

Hey guys it looks like I'm having the same problem as other people with the D162C I have been able to extract SS info on occassion(kind of hit or miss). I have tried waiting for different time intervals to hit the first error message. Tried it on 2 Games with similar results. Havent been using DVD discs for some time. I have 2 young destructors I am trying to save my originals from Grin

I would be willing to help out with any BETA testing if you still need Guinea pigs Grin. I have been around for a while(I beat my head against a wall for weeks, finally got set up,then auto install was all overplace Roll Eyes  )
Any how, thanks for putting in your time guys,really....

I found that some games needed the files to be extracted individually, so extract the game, ss, pfi, dmi, and video into a folder. then use build360.bat that comes with the xtreme firmware.

or make it

Code:
copy /b video.iso + pfi.bin + dmi.bin + ss.bin + game.iso IMAGE.000

if your using clonecd you will need a image.dvd file aswell, or make it

Code:
LayerBreak=1913760
IMAGE.000

Hopefully this problem will be fixed in schtrom's next release, if not i will start up a new topic and try work out whats causing this fault.

Im a newby, a bit confused with the backwards compatibility. Do i shake the blood over myself or the console?

Can confirm that,

Burner: Sony DRU700
Disk: TDK
Reader: SH-D162C V0.8
Software: Schtrom2.1, CloneCD (no messing with booktypes or bitsettings)
Tested on: TS-943A with Xtreme 3.3

Works ok

Hi,

Ill start by saying im in Aus, and im using a aus pal disc. I have succesfully made backups with my sh-d162c with kreons v0.6, and added the ss.bin later.

I upgraded the firmware on my sh-d162c with the V0.8 firmware (thanks kreon). Restarted computer. I put a original game in the drive, open schtrom360xtract v2.1. First thing, i cannot save on usb drive, easily fixed, i save it elsewhere. in task i select 'whole disc (stealth xtreme 3.0). I then click extract. It goes for a few seconds and comes up with the message 'security sector extraction is currently not full supported...' I ignore this message click ok. I then get a second message saying 'can't extract ss.bin!' at 3% and the drive starts grinding. I eject and it stops. I then close Schtrom360xtract, and try again. I get the error 'No valid Xbox disc in drive!'. I tried putting another original in, and i get the same error. If i restart the computer and start over with a different game Same things happens.

If i select game.iso, video.iso, ss.bin and extract them all indivualy it seems to go ahead with no problems, I have the tool that was released with xtreme 3.0 and i will soon try this method to see if i can make a succesful backup.

Any help would be greatly appriciated. And thanks again kreon, schtrom and the rest of the team. Great work.

Just thought id let anyone with the same problem know, that i managed to burn a couple of succesful backups.
Waiting for 20 seconds before clicking the first error message worked fine for DOA4 PAL, but with NFSMW PAL i had to extract the files seperatly than use the tool supplied with the xtreme package to merge them back together.

Burnt both games using my SONY DRU700 burner, i did not change booktype or bitsettings, as my ts drive has the xtreme 3.3 firmware.

Also i can confirm TDK discs are working using the DRU700 and playing in the TS drive with 3.3 firmware.

scotia, i think i got it working, will soon find out. I reset the computer, have to do this everytime i get the 'no valid xbox disc' error. I opened schtrom360xtract v2.1 before opening any other programs, and clicked whole xtreme 3.0 as task. and clicked extract i let it go. and when it gave me the first error i waited about 20 seconds, then clicked ok. and it didnt give the second error, its still copying, so i will keep you updated. Im guessing its a problem with my system, i am running win xp with media centre, on a celeron 1.9ghz, 256mb ram. and copius disk space.
