I hear from the channel that once the beta is over with c4eva will hold on to it and release it after the fall update. I dont quite remember the timing of the past fall updates. What time frame were they released?

Did you ever happen to think that someone on these boards happened to have constant dialogue with c4eva? It wouldn't be wise to take that information if the person was merely a poster that infrequently visited this site. Now if the person is a well respected person within the community, he could quite possibly know some details that I'm asking about.

What problem is it to know what hardware to use for it anyways? I don’t see how this confuses the "f***" out of people if you follow the right people.

gigabite OK...solid info is I can confirm that a PCI SATA card (VIA chipset) works for reading/flashing, rumor has it that no switch is needed (maybe someone found some code or some way to put it into recovery mode...with was what the switch does)

Why the hell was this removed?
URL was: http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=8771.0
Title of the Topic was: So what is it we need with the BenQ

Body: I understand the beta is going to start for a select few this weekend, and it would only seem normal to let those individuals know exactly what it is they need before they begin to flash the new BenQ

Also it would be good for me and others to know this information as well. I dont mind buying the necessary sata cards early and being prepared for it. So does anyone have some solid info on this?

The only thing I know of, and its probably a rumour, but who knows, is that the nForce chipsets are the only ones working at the moment. What about the cards. I would rather use a card than my onboard chipset as I heard of a couple of people ruining motherboards this way. Better safe than sorry.

What's the difference between the Dangerous Brothers release, and the one released by Pioneer from the link above?

That's it?

I just got some 2.4 media from here: http://www.supermediastore.com/ritek-ridata-double-layer-dl-dvd-plus-r-cake-box.html

Product Code: DVD02X0189
Manufacturer: Ritek Ridata
Media code: RITEKD01

With this new firmware upgrade to 1.29 will I be able to burn these discs at 8x, and they'll work np?
Isn't that a bit too fast? even 6x seems fast. What am I missing here?

Sorry, you need to buy the new product the 8X version. This firmware will not allow you to burn older
2.4x media at a faster speed. This firmware just allows to finally burn the 8x media being sold here in
the stores in Toronto (only $52 for 25 discs, including all taxes) at the full 8x speed. Before even when
a 8x disc was put in the burner it would burn at 2.4x, we have been waiting for this firmware for a long
time, and I am glad Pioneer has finally updated their burner.

Ahh okay. I just recently purchased my first set of Dual Layer media, and wasn't sure what was going on. I had thought that all the media speed was set at 2.4.
Thanks for clearing that up. :>

I just flashed my firmware, but I have no game to burn :>

Try the 111D firmware.

Pioneer is the god of burners now.

New version works great.

8x burn in under 12 minutes (starts at 6X, then ramps up)

Ritek media burned at 8x works on both Samsung and Hitachi,

and no problem booting with latest firmware and old "non-media detect" firmware.

Good Job - Pioneer - Maybe you should update your older burner models now? Please!

Okay I figured it out. I just powered the Hitachi drive with the Xbox, and I didn't ground it, and it flashed sucessfully.

I've heard alot of people using this device (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812156014) to flash the Hitachi drive.

I just recieved mine today, but the self powered plug which is located in this picture (http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/12-156-014-04.JPG) is a different plug than the one that is located on the 360 Hitachi drive.

or am I over looking something?

Thanks
