There is a solution to this, some claim it works as for others not so much. I'll try to post the solution here.

3  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Xbox 360 no longer plays any of my backups; error "disc unsupported" on: November 16, 2011, 07:44:31 PM
Hello,

My 360 firmware LT 2.0 recently had no problem playing back ups of GOW3, FIFA 12 and CODMW3 for a week or so as I played them even last night. Today, it won't boot any of these recent backup and presents the error "disc unsupported". I tried playing my old backups and original games to verify and they all work.

I'm not sure what the problems is with the GD3 backups... Is it my laser selectively crapping out on these images or am I flagged?

Thanks!

Haven't been in this forum for AGES, so please excuse my newb post but seeing there is no updates to this pc dvd drive past 2010 I was wondering if the dvd drive is obsolete in regards to ripping 360 games for backup purposes?

Thanks for the quick and helpful response my friend.

P.S: Sata cable was broken... Replaced SATA cable and it worked... Strange eh.
6  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Modded Xbox 360 OPEN TRAY ERROR : What scenarios am I dealing with? on: June 12, 2010, 12:55:56 PM
Hello,

My modded xbox 360 had a blaster 360 inside. I removed the blaster 360, and I thought I reattached the sata cable to the console but I don't know. With the blaster360 the console could play any games and backups...

Is the only scenario for an open tray modded 360 console that can't play original games and backups which used to play them before an  sata cable issue? Let me say that the DVD drive does not make iniaition to run the game. I open tray, put the game in, and in exactly  2-3 seconds it immediately says open tray.

Thanks!
7  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 Support / Re: Xbox Error 16 - Help following tutorial on: June 16, 2009, 11:13:06 AM
Ok hello,

So I fixed my error 16 xbox and made it working. What I did was follow the original tutorial above and this tutorial http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=54b09dbb7a51309a645f76ae3ec1bda8&t=2055256404.

So I was following the second tutorial first transferring the Ndure files into the xboxhdm and such. Also added the Ndure.txt file as the 2nd tutorial mentions.

Then thats where I stop following the 2nd tutorial. I continued with the first tutorial of how to unlock the xbox (switiching ide cables and such) and then what to do with xboxhdm. Follow what the first tutorial mentions and not the 2nd for this part. Instead of saying xbrowser like the 2nd tutorial mentioned I just did what the first tutorial wanted, just saying 1, 1 ,create xbox hard drive, and then the xbox says it is creating C. It takes a few minutes. Then a minute for D. Then I switch back the ide cable from the pc to the xbox and turn the xbox which is said in tutorial 2 so it  can be locked. .

Once finnished, turn on the xbox again, and you get error 21. Don't panic! Our xbox manages to play copied and backup games now despite the error 21!!!! Thats when you put Slayer Autoinstaller 2.6, choose the option of creating an installer on a new hard drive and such. Oh also back your eeprom there is an option somewhere there!

Once finnnished you have a great modded xbox once again or for the first time. So this is a good little tutorial of how to go from a error 16 xbox (dashboard got deleted) with absolutely no backup of the stock hard drive partitions and eeprom into a fully functional modded xbox!

Thanks for your help guys!

hello,

yes I have the latest microsoft dash and thats in the cd drive of xboxhdm. I need the C files, E files, D and F files etc! Xbins have C and F files with extensions .dxt. Do I put these accordingly to their right folers in xboxhdm? Am I set?

Also numerous tutorials mention to copy the same C and F files into the from the slayers installer into the xboxhdm? However, all Slayers I download are in ISO format so how I would get those files?

9  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 Support / Xbox Error 16 - Help following tutorial -- REVISED TUTORIAL FOR UNBRICKING E16 on: June 14, 2009, 04:50:53 PM
Hello,

My xbox had error 16. It was softmodded and the dashboard got deleted and the power cord got disconnected so I could not have ran the exploit again.

So I was following this tutorial:

http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-161.html

Let's keep in mind that I have absolutely no backup of my hard drive!

So everything is going well, I managed to unlock my hard drive as the tutorial instructs, and I burned a copy of the xboxhdm1.9 with the latest xbox dashboard in the C section of linux and I booted it off that. Now, when I am in dos, and when I follow all the instructions, the message comes "please reinsert a different cd with C and E files.

I don't have C, E or essentially a backup of a proper xbox hard drive. How am I supposed to get this???

Thank you!

Got it.

I can't believe how much I missed. Just a year ago only hitachi can be flashed through desktop but now all drives can be flashed through desktop. It may not seem much but for someone out of the loop the progess is beautiful!

Hello Xbox Hacker,

I have been out of the loop for a while (1 year to be exact) and I learned that a new firmware is out.

My current Benq firmware is 1.4.1 and I have a blaster 360. I have the via sata pci card also! What is the safest more reliable modern method I could go from reflashing it to a newer firmware.

Thank you!

if youre hacked firmware has a good key in it for youre board just get original firmware for youre drive from somewhere and inject key into it  Wink

How does one know if their hacked firmware has a good key in it?
14  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Does each 360 have its specific Orig.bin? What happens if it is lost....? on: November 23, 2008, 01:00:36 AM
Hy,

I didn't come to this forum in a while and well this may be a really dumb question so I am sorry. My question is does each 360 have its own specific orig.bin?

Lets say my 360 has 1.4.1 iXtreme Benq firmware and I lost my orig.bin (norton antivirus deleted it as a threat I believe) is there any real loss? Do I need the orig.bin to go back to the original state of 360? Can I use a general orig.bin? Does the xtreme firmware that is on my 360 right now have some certain code to it that deciphers an orig.bin?

dude that blows. so I will try to do the hotswap then. The softmod creators should of put a password lock on those crucial files so those idiots like me don't mess with them and break the xbox.

last time I tried to solder bypass caps to the 360 mobo and it failed miserably. My xbox is the blue halo 2 edition xbox... I believe all LE xbox's are 1.6 from past readings?

Also if I recall from 5-6 years ago knowledge we had a solderless solution Spider chip?
18  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 Support / Re: Xbox softmod error code 13 -- I've done my research please help! on: July 03, 2008, 11:49:34 PM
apparently to soft mod the xbox I NEED to copy the mechassault autoinstaller to the hard disk inorder to go on but I have no dashboard!

Other options perhaps?
