I just opened my xbox 360 and took the dvd drive out of the box.. I turned on the xbox 360 without the dvd drive inserted on the console and didn't freeze..
Now i'm thinking that my dvd drive is bricked.. Because it only freezes with the dvd drive connected

Thank you for your responses

9  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Birdy flasher 2.2 on: August 15, 2006, 01:19:00 PM
What's the name of your package?

Drive is in Mode B, it does show up in windows and it takes two presses to close the tray. The first time I flashed the drive was with xtreme 1.1 then I restored and flashed with xtreme 1.3. hitachi 47d and yes I shut down all the background programs.

Regards,

Matias

Holy crap!

I didn't know that firmware was outdated. Maybe that's the reason I'm getting the dirty disc error.
Thanks Marc

Disregard. I flashed my hitachi 47d with extreme 1.1 firmware. My motogp back up doesn't work, the xbox gives me the dirty disc error, I'll keep trying.

Yes. I finally connected the xbox 360 to my computer. It took me like a week, but I did it, thanks to chaos.
Now: I have another problem; while connected to my pc, my 360's cd rom keeps opening by itself, I can't get it to keep it closed, this is really weird.
Plus, I can't find firmcrypt in the web.
I have the firmware, memdump, flashsec, but I'm missing firmcrypt.
There are my two problems now.
If anyone can help, it'll greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ok. I downloaded the new liv-cd.iso, and managed to put it in mode b. Windows recognized the drive and assigned a letter to it. Now, I will pass to the firmware step.

Thanks for the help and writing such an excelent tutorial.

Chaos;

Thanks for your response. I'm currently downloading the live-cd, so I'm going to try again with this new iso.
Also, in your tutorial says to insert the modprobe-command:

modprobe usb-storage fix_inq_vendor_id=0x152d fix_inq_prod_id=0x2338

How do I know my fix_inq_vendor_id and fix_inq_prod_id???

Thank you very much for your patience, I hope you have a great holiday.

Thanks for the tutorial

I followed it step to step, and couldn't get my machine on mode b. The error message says command not found, but I don't understand why. I'm stucked with the sata to usb kit, can't see my hitachi 47 in windows.
Help will be very greateful

Thanks
18  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: NEC 3550A on: August 09, 2006, 02:17:21 PM
I tried to burn with the original firmware and failed, but the dvds were memorex, not verbatim.

19  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / NEC 3550A on: August 08, 2006, 08:27:16 PM
It suddenly stops burning. At first was 15%, then 25%, then 3% and 50% last
I have a nec3550A with lilis firmware and I use the latest clone cd with verbatim dvds.

HEEEEEEEELLLPPPPP

What should I do??

Hello!

I just bought the USB2.0 to SATA CABLE kit. The problem is that my computer running windows xp doesn't detect the drive.
I have an hitachi 47d, and nothing happens when I connect the kit from my xbox cd rom to my usb port in my computer.
Please help!!
Thanks
