yeah, it's in a car. I'm mounting a mini-box under the passanger seat and the dvd drive in the dash. It's just a bit over 3ft from plug to plug. I did use a bit larger gauge wire to help with the run, but maybe it's just too long of a run.

wow, thanks for all the help guys. So, I double and triple checked that each wire was correct, 1 to 1, and guess what? They are. So, then I made sure I wasn't an idiot, and it seems to be that I'm not. So, maybe you have some other great sugesstions I can look into.

Or if there is anyone on here that actually knows something, maybe you know if a run over a certain length, like my 3foot run, is loosing signal strenght, like IDE cables do?

Has anyone extened the DVD drive power wires? I attempted it, but it killed the drive, not sure why. Has anyone seen a longer version of the cable?
