The best thing you can do is take apart an old cd/dvd drive or anything with very small surface resistors and practice on it till you feel confident to try it on your 360 drive. I do basically the same thing as Pringle, just heat one side and gently push it up away from the board.

Hitachi drives have key's to, the difference is when you flash a samsung you updated the whole firmware and flash over the key sector. When flashing a Hitachi it only flashes certain sectors and avoids the key sector. If you lost the dvd drive key to an xbox 360 there is no way currently to recover it.

Samsung keys have some other characters before the key, i bet your not using those. Try using Maximus 360 Firmware Toolbox Ver 2.0 to copy your key from the hitachi firmware to the samsung.

The only thing new in this firmware is to allow you to play the original games from EA that contain the dummy SS. Backups are in no way affected by the EA dummy SS.

You might wanna send your stuff to a professional. The 0032CE firmware will not work, heres a quote from me from another post..
