1  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Some reballing questions and procedures on: January 18, 2011, 02:33:40 AM
I need someone who can do a reball, I've been searching around here and can't quite find someone.  Not sure which mobo I have in my xbox but it's a Halo special edition one(the green one with orange trim), It's been sitting in a closet since summer 2009 and I'm hoping with some work to get it running and Jtag'd

Has anyone really looked into these security chips? Do they lock the size of the mem card?  Would there be anyway to kinda messily hack a 4 or 8gb drive together to an old mem card and make it see the entire size?  Sorry lots of questions and probably newbie ones at that, just trying to think of something that could make the mem cards bigger.

well they did add the feature to not boot the game right when the system boots up and it will just go to dashboard if u have a disc in it. however i have yet to find in there where i can turn off the autoboot if i close the disc tray while the console is already to running

6  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Annoying Disc Start When Put In on: May 02, 2008, 11:33:01 AM
Basically i wanna know if there is a way to stop the auto-starting of games when u close the tray.  It drives me nuts when that happens and im trying to watch a movie.  I did find the setting to boot straight to the dashboard which helps a ton, but still i foresee this being an issue.  Any help?

well, the thing that drew me in actually was that i figured if i could use a login script to mount the share as like a drive, then i could just set that as my default download location for my torrent prog on my computer couldnt i?

To kind of bump/answer my own thing here, I found this guide http://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-to-xbox-nas-pt1,review-608.html .   It seems to do just about everything I want it to do, so if anyone has anything negative to say about this article speakup, otherwise i will be doing this install this weekend.

Ok, so my modded xbox unfortunately has just been sitting around lately.  I really want to turn it into a file server that will hold all my mp3'
s, videos, and if possible a bittorrent client.  My ultimate goal is to keep my xbox in a closet while being hooked up to my network and be able to access all my media from my two laptops and my xbox 360.  Anyone have thoughts on what linux distro i should use/what settings i should use?

You guys are utterly amazing here at XBH.  I think the amount of smart people that work in these forums can open anything up given enough time.  So this is what, 20 months since launch and just about a complete hack.  Hard work pays off in the end, Congrats!

Alright, thanks for the reply, i have a hitachi so i will go ahead and mod the firmware on it in the next couple of days.  Its from a launch 360 and its a hitachi so i think the older the better?
12  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 Support / Re: Hdd problem on: July 24, 2007, 11:38:06 AM
To me it sounds like you dont have the dvd drive unplugged when you tried hotswapping.  All you need is the ide cable unplugged, not the power from the dvd drive.  Then you should be able to hotswap no problem.  Good luck
13  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / External Usb Enclosure on: July 24, 2007, 11:25:50 AM
Ok, i only have access to a laptop, and i was wondering if it was possible to use an external sata to usb enclosure to be able to flash my drive firmware.
14  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 General / Re: xbox skins on: May 24, 2007, 01:56:10 AM
Well you could google it, but that'd be too easy.  Just ftp them over to ur xbox.  Some dashboards make it super easy, i know unleashX is very easy for skins.  Just a menu option then u can download them right to it which makes it super easy.  not sure on XBMC my box's HD keeps fizzling out after about 5 mins of operating so i cant get that to install.  Just head on over to xbox-scene.com they have tons of tutorials for all kinds of things for beginners.

Yup, no problem.

Its actually pretty easy stuff.

Hot swap, plain and simple.  I forgot exactly how to do it, just get one of the hotswap installers.  Its easy, i did it to save my softmodded xbox.
17  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 Support / Re: how to get original MS XBox Dashboard Mods to work on: May 15, 2007, 04:52:13 PM
if i remember correctly there was a setting somewhere inside of unleash X that was labeled skins... then u could navigate and it would install them... I remember downloading them directly to my xbox.  Its been a long time though so im not 100% sure.

this has been asked many times, i believe even attempted before, but was never completed.  Basically the time it would take to do it would be such a long time that its impossible.
