Jaspers are very picky mobos. Did you try with 68nf capacitor between A and Gnd ?

I use ftp, speed is very close to 12mb/s. Copying to and from external USB is not faster.

Board swapping is perfectly possible. Works on Hitachis and Liteons aswell. If you have open tray error, then as mentioned it means that your laser is faulty.
