i'm glad i took time to sign up to these forums just to be abused by an overly "helpful" and "friendly" user. you are an amateur when it comes to dealing with people q36 and you shouldnt be registered on any forum if you won't give anyone common decency or respect. my advice to you would be to grow up before you say something like you did to a real person on the street. im rather confident that if you DID decide to treat someone as you did me in real life that you would get your face smashed. dont bother writing anything else, i wont bother reading it as i wont waste my time.

did another reflow (same way i did the first time) and im still getting rings of death. i'm going to leave it for a few more hours and then try turning it on again (i waited ove an hour before turning it back on after the reflow) and im going to leave it on for 24 hours like another thread suggested to get it to heat up properly or something. if that doesnt work im going to send microsoft a big "f*** you" letter and sell all my games. ive had it f***ing around with this $#!t

a question i know the answer to! (or think i do). i got the two red rings from overheating after i did the heatgun. What you need to try is replace the crappy microsoft compound with silver arctic 5. make sure the inferior compound is completely cleaned off (rub it with alcohol and a cotton wool bud) and coat the three things that were covered by the compound by the arctic silver 5 or better. also, ive read that it may have something to do with the xclamps and the screws on the two vents that are xclamped not being tight enough. i know this is months later but i hope it helps somebody fix their problem. my xbox ran fine with no overheating issue after this.

Thanks dude, will reflow again. I forgot to remove the thermal paste last time so maybe after i do that and then reflow it i will have better results. It lasted a damn long time though...at least 4 months and at least 300 hours of gameplay. how many times do you think i can reflow it without damaging the components eventually? i suspect i can only do it a few more times before my motherboard starts to look burnt or something

Hey all

First of all, I would like to say that i've voided my warranty by fixing the RROD (0102 error) which successfully made my xbox 360 work for months thereafter. I got the RROD error again a day ago and left my xbox for a day. When i turned it on it was fine and i started playing fallout 3...which lasted five minutes because the game froze and what appeared was a blue and grey pixel net screen. Since then, i can only play fallout 3 for five minutes before it freezes and i'm faced with the blue pixellated screen again. Before i pull apart my Xbox 360 again (groan) i was just wondering if anyone has had this problem before. This forum helped greatly in helping the RROD i had the first time and i value anyone's input! thanks guys.
