if your games only boot as dvd's then your key has been lost.
543  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Falcon XBR3 running fine but Freeboot always gives cristmas light no orig.bin on: January 14, 2011, 07:58:20 AM
so i would just use the updflash from the working zephyr in this?

pretty much, yes

dont know about having to flash the drive, not sure if the dvd key check is patche dout in the latest FB

pretty easy to fix though just flash the dvd key to your mobo and your set.
544  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Falcon XBR3 running fine but Freeboot always gives cristmas light no orig.bin on: January 13, 2011, 06:53:18 PM
you need to build a fb image as if it were for the donor mobo, with its extracted data and cpu key, with fixed SMC for aud_clamp,then just flash it straight to the other xbox

as long as the mobo type is the same ie Zephyr, it will run fine as it is zero paired.

you will need to change the mac address on one if you plan to use both on system link on same network.

read the lot and it is shocking to me what complete and utter bull$#!t sony has fished out of forums and sites,so biased!! (obviously, but come on!!)

not one lineof useful information, or blogs or even a single word on the actual hacks or the progession of legitimate homebrew or open source SDK, just pages of kiddies screaming about backups.

can noone point out to the judge that geohots CFW doesnt even allow backups to be ran and is at the present state not actually breaking any copyright protection system for the games that is on the system?

weak case from sony, and a good lawer for geohot. i'd donate towards his fees.

does the drive still work in the console?

have you dumped the fw more than once?

have you tried flashing the fw to a dummy drive to see if the dump is valid?

tried dumping with another setup?
547  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Upgraded sata drive in jtag slow? on: January 13, 2011, 02:50:49 PM
perhaps your hdd is dying, or has bad sectors throughout that is causing it to pause.

was it a brand new hdd?

you do not need to 'prep' the harddrive, apart from adding the partition for xbox1 BC if you wish to play xbox 1 games.
548  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Lifted resistor. 10k. R1D2. Have donor. on: January 13, 2011, 02:49:34 PM
of course, as long as the via is intact, you can bridge them quite easily with a normal 10k resistor

PS never, ever tug on a soldered wire.
549  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Location of Fuses.bin on: January 13, 2011, 09:59:00 AM
you have no need to alter fuses, what is your goal?
550  Research & Technical XboxHacking (Xbox 360) / DVD-ROM Drive and Media / Re: I swapped MT Chip to another PCB but there is a problem on: January 10, 2011, 05:52:49 PM
more than the cost of a new console.  any connection on the pcb can be repaired in seconds, decapping for key retrieval is about as smart as a dentist reaching all the way up your ass to pull out a tooth.

magic!!
551  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Flashed 360 game[s] won't load on: January 10, 2011, 05:51:44 PM
could be many things

bad/worn laser

crap media

burner on its way out
552  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 "Modding" / Re: solderin technquies on: January 10, 2011, 05:36:49 PM
best way to remove them is to hit them with a big blob of solder

the SMD led's will simply wipe off, and leave clean shiny pads for the new SMD ones

then i use tweezers and a steady hand to place the new ones

takes patience and practice

good luck!!
553  Other Systems / Playstation 3 / Re: Bluray movie rip/backup ever possible?? on: January 10, 2011, 07:34:31 AM

554  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: my second jtag box, some questions.. on: January 10, 2011, 07:29:25 AM
is your console a BB or SB nand?

if it is BB and you have saved your profile onto the internal storage (on the NAND) you will need to move it using either a memory unit or else a USB formatted as a memory unit.

Also, i can personally confirm it WILL WORK with the WD VELOCIRAPTOR series.

Because i Just got done stuffing one in my Xbox 360 Slim.

Shows up as an official MS 120gb drive. except about an average of 20% faster across the board so far. sometimes faster.

it can be done. i have the walkthrough mostly finished. the basics are you need to solder in a wire to the existing factory SATA power connector (pins 13 14 & 15), tap that into a 12v source (DVD drive works) and then reassemble using only 1/2 the rubber boot.

cooling mods required. I'm using a 60x60x25 maglev fan from sunon on a modified HDD Bay cover. works very well.

THANKS MODFREAKZ. fo realz.

defo would like to see pics and a breakdown sounds good.

557  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 "Modding" / Re: xbox360 slim questions on: January 09, 2011, 05:20:52 PM
if you can solder SMD LED's then yes you can change them.
558  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: my second jtag box, some questions.. on: January 09, 2011, 05:20:19 PM
if your 1tb is in the caddy on the side you just need to plug it into new console.
559  Other Systems / Playstation 3 / Re: Bluray movie rip/backup ever possible?? on: January 09, 2011, 05:16:36 PM
AFAIK you can indeed back bluray's up with one of the backup managers cant remeber off the top of my head

edit: think it's Multiman!!

560  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: No power!! Falcon v3 on: January 09, 2011, 05:12:35 PM
could have shorted it out with a loose wire or small solder ball that you didnt notice.

not being able to get a flash controller also indicates that the NAND is corrupted.

try the NAND shorting method to see if you can get access to it again and try to rewrite your image.

check all your connections as well and run a dry toothbrush over the mobo around the cygnos and NAND to ensure there are no shorts.
