how many times do you need to be told the same thing before it sinks in? I answered all your questions in the last post.
the board itself is not important, all the methods mentioned are basically achieving the same thing, the ability to write to a locked board.
its the CFW itself that will get you banned, as well as poorly made backups with incorrect AP2.5 patches and SSv1.
its also a very dumb question, asking about live safety. There has never been a safe CFW for live, and pretty much every CFW release has warned in the README that you use it at your own risk, so quit asking such dumb questions over and over unless you want to be flamed.
if you dont want banned then dont use CFW. period.
a full dump of the FW is required for 0225 boards, grabbing your key etc is not enough. so if you f*** your board up its goodbye xbox.
suck it up and either buy a TX board (if you can find one - no longer in production) or else attempt the kamikaze hack, or send it to a pro to have it done.

quite possible that the console has had the drive connected with the power cable upside down and it has blown the southbridge.
i have seen a homebrew mod that used a small PCB to react and send the correct voltage to the drive using the centre LED of the ROL board as the 'prompt' when it started flashing, to correct a similar issue.

still no joy, i have tried everything i can think of, and i am completely stumped.
all images i create using working 12611 image for 13599 fail, but XELLOUS still boots (SMC ok)
no RROD, just solid green light on centre of ROL board, and no picture sound.
its like the dash is stalling when loading.
flashing back to the 12611 image, the console boots and operates normally.
downloaded latest coolshrimps jtag tool, and used it to create a repaired original NAND, and used it to make the fb image, it thows an error that the crl is corrupted and the extended.bin is not there, and the image also fails.
even a donor image that i know is working great on friends JTAG (also a falcon) doesnt boot on the console, with blocks remapped.
WTF is up with this JTAG? will i be stuck on 12611 forever?

its more the code on the pcb that will get you banned, not the actual vendor of the PCB/chipsets used IMHO that is not an issue.
for the 9504 PCB, i dumped the drive using slimunlock when it was at 9504, then updated the console to 13599, locking the drive to 0272
then i did my homebrew sputnik360 unlock, and then reflashed the OFW back to the drive.
console booted fine with the 9504 image on the drive.
then i updated it to LT1.91 and re-locked the drive, working fine.
0225 drives may indeed be different from what i am reading, and apparently JF even trashes some of the dump when getting it.

chip manufacturer doesnt matter in the drive, the osig in the nand does not reference the chip vendor id etc AFAIK
all are equally unsafe on live with CFW
i have flashed an OFW onto a locked 9504 board (which i unlocked) with no issues booted fine on latest dash.

wow!
idea 1 - there are two keys - private and public. to sign code you need the private key, which is only found in m$ HQ. you aint getting it through any means. it isnt found inside the console, its too hard to crack, also too hard to break in and steal it lol, forget it. if code signing is so easy how come no-one has managed it yet? maybe coz it isnt easy and you are just foolish?
idea 2 - Xbox live hacking is of course possible, but is a VERY big NO NO on this forum and you will get heavily flamed for suggesting it, and again we cannot sign code (this is not a 3.55 ps3 you know).
idea 3 - Direct access to the NAND has been done for quite some time.... never heard of the JTAG hack? where you been for the last few years? id suggest googling it and reading up.
heres a tip for new people, spend 10X the amount of time reading up on these things, than the time spent thinking of silly questions, and you can answer 95% of them yourself, without embarrassing youself on a public forum.

i dont have anything and i flashed about 10 drives, use the 360 to power the drive with the AV cable connected to the console so that it doesnt turn off.
The benqs i Flashed where easy to flash you should have no problem using the 360 to feed power to the drive

powering a 360 with no sata attached flags in secdata.bin and could possibly lead to a ban definately not good advice to give to anyone!! to the OP if the driv eonly pays movies and not games, then it sounds as if the dvd key in the drive does not match the one for the console. do originals work? |

sorry to raise an old thread, but this problem has reared its ugly head again when trying to update this JTAG to latest freeboot with fbbuild 0.32
ive tried every combination to make the updflash for this, and all boot with solid centre light and no error code, XELLOUS also boots so the SMC is correct.
used working 12611 FB image as nanddump.bin in fbbuild (completed with no errors)
used fbbuild with files extracted from working 12611 image using 360flashtool 0.97 (completes saying crl.bin is corrupted)
used easyfreeboot with working 12611 FB image
phonsey made me the working 9199 and 12611 FB images that have worked, everything else errors out.
bad blocks are no onger the issue as last time, i have ditched flash360 and am using xellous or LPT manually remapping blocks when flash is bad.
pulling my hair out on this JTAG
even tried a donor image working on another falcon i have here with bad blocks remapped and still no boot.
relfashing the 9199 or 12611 FB images returns it to booting correctly.
WTF??

I'm pretty sure no-one has answered this question and apparently this problem occurred with tarablinda also,
When I do : UnlockSPI 3490
I get : WinIO error in writing to port 3493
IF I try port 3480, it gives same error but with 3483, it seems to add 3 to the port each time? I know there is a range there, I've tried various driver states/versiosn etc.. all work fine for JF.
HELP!!! please! This has got me stumped, and I don't have any other PC's I can use for flashing (Without drama, eg; 64bit win7 with SATA ports, non of which show in JF!
Oh yes, and BTW I am using 32 bit XP (VIA 6421) before you ask ..... I would try dos, but it wont boot from USB (Bloody IBM crap-ware BIOS!) and the floppy was removed ages ago to make room for everything else that's crammed-in there :p

first of all a clasic answer? did you install via's driver? if so, REMOVE IT!!! If you haven't instaled the driver, two suggestion: 1- try to change pci slot, maybe you have an issue on pci slot; 2- try to format your pc ( i know this is boring, but you have to try this solution too) hope that this can help you. please post feedback of everything. Thanx for the feedback, Yes I know all about uninstalling drivers, hence the comment: 'I've tried various driver states/versions' I have been at this for a while now ;-) I have even tried swapping different VIA card versions as that has help with other issues in the past... There is only one PCI slot (It's SFF, annoying I know), I have read elsewhere that ppl have re-installed Window$ and it miraculously cleared-up their problem, First of all let me say this : If it comes to that I'll do it, but I'm just not that kind of guy, in that I need to know (or at least get a vague idea) what's causing this. I know the setup is overly complicated with tons of legacy crap (tied-in to old VIA drives and the like)etc.. and that all makes it difficult to diagnose but I think re-installing OS might be a clue. I would like to avoid this at all costs as I have tons of other work-horse type stuff layered installs and the like , I'm guessing If I backup and restore after I will just get the same problem back.... I have noticed that different VIA6421 card iterations respond differently to different drivers and perhaps that might have something to do with it also, The fact that Tara had the same problem hints something perhaps to do with the interaction of WinIO.sys and the drivers. I'm aware also that ppl often use different drivers for ripping/flashing & I'm curious what ver those who have success with VIA6421 and unlockSPI were using ?? I appreciate the suggestion(s) & the prompt response Still looking for answers.... @the guy having the dvd-play issue, perhaps get the 1.9 re-pack (although I dont think it's called that ;-) and the absolute latest JF (I seem to remember something about a similar issue in the recent changelogs..) try this via driver - i had freezing issues etc with my 6421L even after successfully removing the drivers from my system until i found this driver on another site and it works like a charm!! was amazed!! http://www.sendspace.com/file/hkc2uzlet me know if it works for you |
