m$ did respond by changing hardware, the ms28. it included a flash protection system that was easily passed (vcc trick).

i dont think that it has to do with the dates of manufacture, more to do with the games and stealth/frequency of playing online.

as c4eva has stated banning is a manual process, if you are on live online with backups all the time you'll most likely get banned. people with firmguarded fw have been banned, and people with 1.3 Fw still are on. the only way i can see the last example happening is coz they havent done enough to get themselves noticed.

from reading redlines topic about true game stealth and various comments from garyopa and c4eva means that a lot of the game images available ono the net etc will not boot on the new FW, and hence a new iXtreme image will now be the required type for that FW.

i have also read that it may be possible to patch iso's with the required info to make them iXtreme compatible.

yes but it will not tell him if the SS is the correct one IE what the whole post is about.

a game with a hitachi SS will still show up on PC as a 360 game.

open the game in the PC using xboxmulleter7 and choose the option to read from dvdr.

it will verify the SS

ms25 5.3c still on live as of last night (in work now )

online with backups (no multiplayer yet) all stealthed no problems, 58% on the halo 3 beta with a crackdown backup (of my own original) and im straight onto it when its done.

dont care about banning i can get a new xbox easily i would like to be a tester for the new FW!!

it has been spoke about before that the toolbox can brick older hitachis other than 78/79

my manual method never bricks your drive as you are simply patching the key manually.

unfortunately now you have a bricked drive, the internal read routines have been overwritten probably and the only way to fix it is to program the eeprom externally or use the infectus chip to reprogram the FW with a complete working image.

very sorry i didnt get my advice to you sooner.

if you are going to update to the iXtreme FW then al your old xtreme backups will be useless anyway.

all games will have to be re-ripped to include all correct PFI, DMI and SS in the new iXtreme format.

keep the discs as they can still be used on a banned console with the older FW.

unplug your modem for 24 hours the ip address will change if not call isp and get it changed.

sounds like your laser has died, reading backups puts a lot more stress on your laser, even more so if it is a poor media or dye used.

it is a very simple process to replace a dead lser, and the lasers are not very expensive ~£15/$30 for a laser from reputable sources (not ebay).

it is nothing to do with the FW on the drive.

i have also been removed twice from that forum, i find that it is heavily moderated especially in the dvd rom section which i mainly posted in.

I even have a tutorial on their list and i cant follow up on it to help people as i am now permabanned on that account in this name for which i was not told why either.

i made a new username and was banned again for nothing i guess they figured out it was me. they wont even let you back in once you have learned from your mistakes.

make a new username and adhere to the rules is all i can advise.

im not going to hold your hand through this, i had to figure it out myself. mtkflash will not work with the PCI card from the start, you will have to hex edit it to match your chipset. there are tutorials on how to do this on xboxscene go there and read up b4 trying anything.

first off stop panicking it will work i have same PCI card and have done my samsung.

you will need an edited mtkflash and a working floppy drive. dont worry about seeing the drive in bios etc coz u cant unless the drive is flashed with 0800 FW.

read the tuts for the edited mtkflash u will need to learn how to hexedit (its piss easy)

then u need to dump ur FW, extract key, inject into xtreme FW and flash it to the drive and ur good to go.

Dont quite know how but i managed to brick my hitachi whilst flashing it (really long story involving an xecuter connectivity kit being powered with the PC connector in upside down and frying the laser and it seems the drive)

I had originally thought that it was just the laser that took the damage but when i replaced it and tried to flash the drive again it errored out on the first patch. Then i restored it using garyopa's flasher and after that the flash.bat cant recognise the drive build any more so i guess its rightly bolloxed.

i managed to get a dump of the original firmware before it died though. I have also managed to get another hitachi drive from a good friend, and i was wondering how i go about putting my key into this new drive.

I have read countless posts and tuts on flashing drives, and i have not seeen any mention of inserting new keys into hitachi drives. I have done the hex edit method for a samsung before and i am aware that the method for the hitachi's is nothing like that, and i am confused as to how this is done.

can the key be flashed into the drive in a command prompt if the address for the key is known? any help is greatly appreciated.

The VIA 6421 chipset is beng assigned to IRQ 21. How do i chnge it? i have read up on the net and it says to uncheck automatic settings in resources tab in PCI card properties, which i cannot do as it is shaded out in grey and i cant get at the option.

i have also tried to assign a letter to the drive but it simply isnt recognised. I now do believe the TX adaptor is doin the job and putting the drive into mode i just cant get my head around this IRQ thing.

hi all i have been on before having difficulties getting my hitachi 47DJ into modeb and recognised by windows.

with the kind guidance of some master hackers here we tried almost everything and still no luck. So i decided to purchase the TX connectivity kit to see if that would do the trick.

the kit arrived and i tried the HD adapter, which worked first time had full access to 360 HD so it meant that the PCI card was working properly (my first worry)

so i try the DVD kit. hook up to PC whilst off with modeb button on dongle pushed down. boot and PC sees no drives on the SATA loading screen, windows stalls on the loading screen for a few mins, then boot to windows with no drive and a conflict with my PCI SATA card same as before.

After a lot of pondering and trying over and over i have come to the conclusion that i must be having an IRQ problem which i have no idea how to fix. I need the help of some kind soul here who can guide me through the tiresome experience modding my 360 has become.

I wait in anticipation please spare my sanity and reply asap!!
