in the end i put an XCM fan in and f*** me its even louder, but at least it monitors the temps and adjust the fans accordingly.

be careful, what you are talking about is committing a crime (fraud) and usually is frowned upon in most forums, i was banned from xbox-scene for telling someone how to do the swap out you are mentioning.

the problems you are facing are not easily fixed by yourself, and will cost you more in time and materials than $99 should anything go wrong.

if the ixtreme fw can reply back with a PFI and DMI for discs that have not got all correct stealth, perhaps it can respond with an SS for each iso on the HD, eliminating the need for a disc in the drive.

wow thanks now i hope c4eva is able to spend some time on this and manage to find a way to allow the booting of games with no disc in the drive, then with a big HD we will be able to load all games at the touch of a button.

Now that some people have managed ot get the update running with an infectus chip, can anyone verify if gta plays better with no pop ins lol, and how long the game takes to rip would be interesting to see if it is as fast as they said at E3.

also has anyone ran the dash with a hacked fw, and does the game play from the HD with a backup in the drive.

try different discs than verbs, i know the old argument that they are best but i have flashed many consoles and i know that quite a few hitachis i have done would not boot any verbatim disc, but played cheaper media instead.

i am a believer that verbs are the best quality discs, my point is that some hitachis dont like em.

i went from a 360 with a ms25 to a 360 with a benq for the HDMI, and noticed a change in reading,  some aone's never work but my verbs are fine.

as arakon says the cheaper media shows its worth when you have weaker laser etc

no definately not, the system is not overclockable, the difference is in the drive and laser, each type of drive will read recordable media differently, depending on the quality of the media.

yeah, i remember trolling those forums for any 360 news before it was launched, the forum inspired me to buy a broken xbox from ebay which i in turn gave a little TLC, and made it into my mediabox with full x3 chip suite and front panel with LCD and big hard drive custom jewels and lots of LED's

miss the modding days lol

these blaster things and kits are just for bling and lazy people honestly its a piece of piss to crack a 360 and flash the drive with a sata card in a PC

all u need is the tools to open the box and a sata cable but most importantly of all, knowledge of what you are about to do.

i suggest reading up on how to do it yourself and do it the best way, for free.

Hopefully C4eva finds a way to code the fw to allow us to bypass the disc in the drive requirement and we can boot with an empty drive.

this may not even be possible!
