grab the PCI card that has a via 6421 chipset on it, the best for all types of drives and cheap.

i'd reccomend then use unlock79 cd and JF to get the drive into modeb BUT IMPORTANTLY use fw toolbox to flash the fw

JF has killed lots of hitachis on me on all setups i have had when fw toolbox has workked on all setups.

the kit comes with two cables, one with the extra cable one without you have prob lost the other one when you got it.

if you have not got the cable then you will have to find one.

you need your own drive specific HDDSS.BIN any old one wont work.

the firmware is coded for a specific drive it cannot be used for any old drive.

also the drives are piss easy to get use google or ebay.

also use IMGBURN to write the discs it will auto choose your burner for you instead of a pull down tab perplexing you

the only way to power the ck3 wrong with a molex is to insert the molex connector upside down, which will blow the $#!t out of it.

are you running latest ixtreme for your drive 1.51?

in principal it sounds good ans would give a killer setup but would have 3 boxes, the mb, dvd drive and cooler tower.

i'd keep the dvd drive where it is and fit the rest into whats left if it can fit. or else make the case slightly bigger to make room for it all.

read your own dvd drive with JF and copy key into notepad

read liteon drive fw with JF

copy key from own drive in notepad into fw of liteon opened in JF

flash to liteon with JF

its as much to do as how the console is used and treated as much as the hardware itself

i have had launch 360's in to be flashed mint condition as they were looked after well and not abused.

i have had 2009 date 360's in with E74 and 3RLOD that were disgustingly dirty.

12v fan mod again is uneccessary if you look after your console, and some say could lead to a ban (which i disagree)

at mo more likely to get liteon 7 series which requires probe, so selling yours hoping to get liteon 8 series could be hard to achieve.
