woops

sounds like a solder-ball under the GPU melted into another one...re-ball time...
check the surrounding area around the GPU for any warping or bowing.....

lots of people doing this Xclamp setup and using only 1 washer so when the GPU area heats up they tighten down the screw/bolts
to tight and smash the solderballs just enough to squeeze them down a bit and either make them touch each other or just fail...

if the mosfet was bad it wouldn't show nothing.(it would drain to quick for a reading if shorted).

besides the MU it signs in to the hd if it don't find a live connection....lol

i wouldn't mess with any of them...as you can control the air flow with the machine....
you have to just take your time heating and pulling...if your going to reball just heat and hold the chip with a tweezers and keep checking it..just make sure you don't get it to hot as the board will warp ....the board will bow a tat but when colled will sit back down..
you can stop that if you need to by bracing the whole board down so it don't bow at all....
so your main thing is to brace down the board so nothing bows,then apply the heat

well 1 way this problem would occur would be because of a surge to the unit as it went out..
and the only thing that comes to mind is at the southbridge...
do you still have dvd functions?

if so, then maybe because of the surge it caused a solder ball to heat up and dismount from it's location
rare but seen it happen.....(the one that did go out was running heavy graphics at the time)

if not, part of the southbridge is either not getting the supplied voltage or the internals are shorted out...

not saying these are the direct problem solving issues,but just out of seeing this happen more then once in the past
is what made me stop by and add to this....

E79 is usually a corrupt kv ,bad wiring or diode.

guess, you dont understand me. EEPROM is a machine which reads NAND directly. In the picture you see i take it out and insert NAND into this machine and it can be read directly. In jtag wiring you are soldering some wires to acces NAND with a alternative way. Both ways come to same result which is "READİNG NAND"

was it really worth pulling the nand to read? 7 wires and 5 resistors with the diode would of been way easier wouldn't you think?
