1)you having the key meaning it was an older dash and was jtagged(freeboot) to 9199?
2) you meaning you have the CPU key for a new non jtagged(stock) 9199 dash?
if #2 is the case. how did you obtain this key when the hack was closed?

now if that was the cause,you would be messing with live and having the site(s) shutting down because of this...
as you know this forum does not mess with XBOX LIVE...right.....

it's also been stated in many posts that your to have 2 units 1 for online play and one to do with what you want with it...

maybe just popped the diode because of the ban being in the right direction(hopefully) or shorted the gate out on the mosfet(dim lights).
odds would say both, as both are made to pop at any spike.
and if the diode was in wrong,
you just shoved 12 volts into the SB or GPU....if this is the case replacement time...

1.    Turn off your Xbox 360 console with your existing hard drive (the "source" drive) attached.
2.    Disconnect all accessories from the console.
3.    Turn on the console. Connect a controller and turn it on. You will need to use a controller during the content transfer.
4.    Connect the transfer cable to the hard drive that you are moving content to (the "destination" hard drive).

if this don't work it is because you don't have a official hd for the X360 (M$ might have removed this)...
or this was removed in the new 9199 dash update,for some reason....
also why don't you do the transfer through the pc.....

you are using the transfer kit and not only the disk right?
if so do the transfer through the pc...i just tried it and it works, as long as you have the kit not only the disk....

also most of the older units do rrod because of the heat the GPU puts out. the heatsink can't dissipate
the heat fast enough, causing the top and bottom of the mobo to excessive heat build up and causing,
the no-lead solder to break connection or brittle up in most cases....the stock Xclamps have nothing to do with it.....
I have stated this a year ago and proved most wrong on this matter by successfully re-balling/re-flowing over 400 units
and reinstalling the stock clamps back and in most cases it ran cooler...

the dvd drive key is either in the dives fw dump or the encrypted kv.bin in the nand ....

only problem i had was trying to capture the heat and venting it without bending the wires....

i would go with freeboot v0.31 don't support the features.....so flash to v0.32 and see whats up...
