force feedback as in the controllers vibrating...that's done with power - anything you plug into a USB port uses 5v...that doesn't have anything to do with read only

fine im commenting...a heatgun set at 100 degrees...this is cooler than a hair dryer but still hot enough to get the sticker off (takes about 2 min), after you smell hmm lets say plastic being warmed up (not melted) and you think the sticker is ready to come off slowly insert your razor blade under one corner of the sticker.  Get a set of tweezers (still while heating) and carefully pull off the sticker and stick it on a bit of wax paper to keep it perfect. If you have done it correctly, the sticker should be perfect and you should not have damaged any of the plastic - it's not fraud to pull off a sticker

about 90% of the error codes listed on the net are wrong...most of them posted on here (that have been re-looked into) are correct..any of the 0001/2 is usually a short - try another PSU but if it's not that then i'd prob say the motherboard is fried

if it worked up until now, your laser is dying/dead (simple replacement) - if you just got it done or you did it yourself, the key is in the wrong place or isn't there resulting in a brick....pick your poison and well go from there

you are absolutely spot on there reason being is he has a cracked eDRAM heat spreader (but I thought it would still be ok)....this would make perfect sense, dam I wasted all that time with the network ports and the IC oh well [if theres someone on XS who can change the e73 meaning it would be much appreciated ?], thanks heaps for your help much appreciated !!

Yeah cool...don't understand it 100% but seems based on that code that it's video related (i.e GPU) - feel free to correct me if I am wrong....i've also replaced the IC with a working one and my soldering was 100% perfect and it still gave me e73 (technically...without the network IC and/or the Ethernet port...shouldn't it just boot ?)....going to re-do the whole thing but this time i'm going to go really hard...thanks for your reply also mate

yeah...but don't dispare because it's a Hitachi (which means the key is not flashed over, only the area around it) so it can be dumped with an external programmer and you can put in a new drive (PM if interested)

As the title says, basically - re-flowed the board, done the x-clamp mod and now e73..I re-soldered the whole Ethernet IC (this board has the big one)...I re-flowed all the SMD's around it (and also on the underside) and the connections...I de-soldered the IC (same error) and i've also de-soldered the whole Ethernet port itself (still, same error).  I've also re-flowed the SB again also, the secondary code is 1021, i've got a known working Ethernet port and IC on a spare dead board - same IC type as well...any other suggestions or should I just go ahead with it (what would be a suggestion in theory if I re-soldered on the new one and e73 still was there ?).  I've also tried loosening and tightening the screws etc etc, any help or suggestions would be much appreciated

yes...if the last step you did was erase, that means your drive has no firmware so of course your going to get e64 until you flash a firmware back to it

personally I use the SST 39SF020A chip as it's a replica of the original one (go to batronix.com to get them)...theres people on the Wiinewz forums who you can buy PIC chips off and they will program them for you also...not for very much
