you will NEED to solder in a passkey...you CANNOT dump it or write to it without a passkey, once you have the key from it you can easily flash/spoof that to your Samsung - based on my work, i'd say don't attempt it cause even some claming there modders or pros can't do it for $#!t...get a proper professional to do it

which traces...any bridges etc...better quality pictures are required for better help, it's possible that a component has been killed but without better pics I can not tell

please don't make a new thread every time you have some new information, better quality pics would give us a better look BUT...obviously someone has tried to install a passkey - SO..without a better quality pic it's possible that they knocked off a components or killed a component (as this is common for n00bs who attempt such things with such drive).  Bearing in mind that you cannot flash over the key of any Hitachi, the code is patched around the key SO your key is still there which means you can replace the drive BUT...without a passkey you cannot dump it - IMHO I can help you check your PM's Wink

if you havn't modded it then the drive is most likely gone...you could try a couple of things (check your cables..clean any dust etc) - if that doesn't sort it then buy a new drive BUT DO NOT THROW OUT THE OLD DRIVE !!! you MUST dump the firmware from it first...you NEED the key form it, without it the whole console is useless and cannot play games

you can't swap PCB's in this case...there is something wrong with the PCB not the drive (e.g laser etc etc) - yes if you get a new drive e65 will be gone BUT you need to hook the 360 up to the PC and dump the firmware to grab your key

it's got nothing to do with fw...you can check by dumping the firmware - there are millions of topics on it not only here but on the net

don't worry...it's worth more haha from what I remember that's a Demo kit not a Debug kit - you can patch your game to run on demo/debug kits so don't worry to much as you have lots of extra features

914  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 "Modding" / Re: loud Xbox 360 fan on: July 07, 2008, 08:56:52 AM
you can you any fan you please and hook it up using the xbox's own power...however it's useless and a big waste of time Smiley - if your like the other...40 gajillion people complaining that "the fan gets loud" or "the dvd spinning is loud" have a cry...really.  However...the exception to that rule baring is...if the fan is not running smoothly (i've had a few of the junky brands do this in particular Sunon...loud, cheaply made and very crap overall IMHO) and sounds like a bit squeaky or a screwdriver stuck in it (you wouldn't belive what people think is "normal") then use a bit of oil.  WD-40 probably would do but I use some special bmx bike stuff that's supposed to do all this magical stuff (seems to work quite well actually and not just for a short run either)...or...get replacement fans.  Stock fans best brand is Nada (I think that's it...i've gone blank but theirs only one type that starts with N) or 3rd party Tailsmoon...just don't fall for the "cures RRoD" crap and pay for the expensive set that have the slow/medium/fast nob (you can do that yourself with a pot meter) get the bare fans

Xenons also have Lite-Ons (can confirm this...repaired units come back from M$) but they will have 1921CB's so downgrading is a no no

you could hot swap any disk as the check is only made once...BUT you STILL need the correct DVD key to run it
