cool, well everyone has there own method (my new ones a secret Smiley) but 500 degrees max...600 started to break more consoles then it fixed (heat leaks...it doesn't just go directly where you point it) haha so i'd say don't do that

.....it needs to eject TO dump it (people forget this alot), so yeah your probably screwed and your Xbox 360 is now a white (or black) 3KG weight - I don't know how people can plug the connector in backwards, excessive force maybe haha

623  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Spoofing? (How to do it?) on: November 13, 2008, 08:45:33 PM
depends how you bricked it....if you can't dump it in fw toolbox (assuming you got it into modeB properly) then you will need someone to dump it with an external programmer (PM if interested) to  get your key, then you can insert that key into your new Hitachi 46 and also spoof the new Hitachi 46 as a Hitachi 79 (the original drive you had in your Xbox 360). Overall your issue isn't with spoofing (yet) but a key issue...

624  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / I got an e-mail...an actual Xbox 360 mod chip (no not DVD). on: November 13, 2008, 05:08:30 AM
Hi guys, got an e-mail just now from a team called "Cygnos"

basically they are releasing an Xbox 360 modchip, the modchip is for those who have an exploitable kernel...it's a dual kernel "modchip"

This is the e-mail I got:

Dear Sir or Madame,

Cygnos, a team of dedicated console "technicans" is proud to anounce the upcoming release of

our first product called "Cygnos360". Cygnos360 is a modchip for the easy installation directly onto

the underside of the xbox360 mainboard.

Cygnos360 is a dual kernel modchip which adds a secondary NAND flash to the xbox 360 mainboard.

It allows switching between the onboard NAND  flash and the Cygnos360 NAND flash.

By doing so, users can have an exploitable kernel version such as "4532" or "4548" at the same time as

the current kernel version required to play the latest games. Cygnos360 can also be used for switching

between kernels patched with different region codes so that users can easily switch between US and EU

games for example.

A quick summary of the features:

- adds secondary flash to hold an "alternative kernel" that users can switch to

- fits directly on the bottom side of the xbox360 mainboard

- needs only one wire running on the board

- easy to use "quicksolder pads" which at the same time make sure that the modchip is stuck to the

mainboard and does not fall around.

- has solder pads for external switch

- comes with on PCB status LED

- comes with solder pads for external status LED (LED not included)

- Cygnos360 is delivered empty!

you can have a first glimpse at the Cygnos360 modchip in the photo above.

You can also take a quick look at the pre release version of our website

www.cygnos360.com

We have selected your store along with some others to inform you about the upcoming release which

will happen in several days.

If you are interested in becoming a reseller, or if you have questions, please simply reply to this email.

You might be interested to have your banner in our reseller list on our website.

We are very much looking forward to do business with you.

Your Cygnos360 team.

well, it's quite cool but with the percentage of exploitable boxes being so so low...I guess someone had to do it

not swap the chip, swap the PCB's but yes...and basically yes all you are doing is replacing the laser (well the motor too etc etc) so you better hope your PCB isn't damaged...which it shouldn't be Wink

you need to hit close 3 times to get it to close...a suggestion would be to try firmware toolbox (4.6 is what I use personally) as it uses the exact same firmware

628  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Lite-on drive replacement help on: November 12, 2008, 09:00:12 PM
you have to extract the key from the lite on using an RS232 and dvdkey, program externally means...de-solder the firmware chip, read it in an external programmer

or you can do it twice as easy:

turn on Xbox 360, start mtkflash and type in mtflash r orig.bin

options come up, turn off Xbox 360

(in your case) press 5

turn on your Xbox 360 and it will read straight away, no waiting or trickiness involved

you can run unsigned code...e.g homebrew - so yeah they retail/sell for $$$ oh not just that, you can also develop code, install bigger HDD - the list goes on

632  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Flashed ms28 Drive on: November 12, 2008, 08:50:51 PM
Yes you can get your drive back to your original firmware, flash back your ORIG.bin....and yes you are correct, E66 is caused by an incorrect spoof. So you need to spoof the drive using firmware toolbox to the drive that you originally had in your Xbox 360

Regardless, I doubt Giggles is the man with the answers here.

f*** you idiot, I don't see any proof that you have done any proper testing with it or were involved with testing...if you need Arakon to confirm your doubts then your an idiot, he doesn't need to waste his time

I am at school at the moment (actually a LAN gaming place but I have admin rights : p) so I can't show you what a clear secdata.bin looks like but when I get home I will try and get one for you if I have time...a clear secdata.bin can be made if you downgrade (I suggest doing this, then updating to the latest kernal remembering to make sure your LDV values are what they are supposed to be etc) I suggest doing that then keeping a copy so you can just re-flash every time though again as I said before I don't know how M$ are using these logs

simply plan on backing up games on pc and loading to console

this is not possible at all, with the NXE update coming out on Nov 19th you can copy the games to HDD (legally) however you must have a 120GB HDD and you must also keep the game inside the console while playing that particular game (for verification purposes)

my bad, I got confused thought he was comparing Elite and a 2006 console instead of a 2006 Elite compared to a 2007 Elite

I just need to download firmware version 46, put it in ModeB with Slax, connect it to the computer with a SATA cable and then Use Firmware ToolBox to flash it?

No, which is what Arakon said you can't do lol...
Quote
you likely can only flash it with a 46 firmware, but for that you need to program the chip externally.

Yes the key extraction from the old drive applies to you (unless you get another Lite-On drive in which case you can swap the PCB's) Wink

I don't know how to interperate the dumps of it
so theirs half an answer and the other half is you proved my point BUT to those of you who can do this...the technical theory I had (though never tested mind you) was that if you could clear secdata.bin you would be in the clear...HOWEVER...I have NO idea how M$ are using these. i.e a comparison between yours and a "normal" one, a comparison between yours, your last one and a normal one etc...theirs a few variables there...and also EXACTLY what is logged, a few things are known but not exactly all

I'm thinking that it's compared to a "normal" one each time since 99% of people can't get to this file (as in the small amount of people who do actually have a downgradable console etc etc etc) and then a variable comes off here as well...is it logged immediately, is it logged and updated (meaning when they start the "wave" it goes after the latest comparison it's had).

Alot of variables and it is quite tricky to know which one is correct or not etc as you would need a fair amount of testers willing to possibly get a ban on XBL (and then again in future this process could change...not the logging but how the log is interperated and what not)

deer god....3 Red Lights is so freaking broad (it can mean a million things)...commence with the "I updated my console with the latest fall update and now i got 3RL f### M$ blah blah blah"

people, the updates are not designed to give your console 3RL or kill them...if it happens after and update this is purely a coincidence (Arakon will tell you that Wink)
