could the ecu have been damaged like this during the desolder/resolder stages? thanks.

not the ECU (well maybe whoever did it damaged some components), but the PCB yes - to much heat, blisters PCB and/or lifts layers off...and if it doesn't work correctly i'd take it back and demand a whole new one (not by the same person) or send it to someone who can check all the soldering and re-solder etc (PM if interested)....

on a side note ask whoever did it what did they use and do (on that PCB nothing over 25w soldering iron should have been used)

the reduction in heat is what (should) lead to the board not warping - yes the x-clamps are $#!t but they can do the job fine so long as everything stays cool (my box from 06 works perfectly still, original x-clamps but all the cooling mods since the first time it was ever turned on which makes a difference)

^^ but your only looking at the outer BGA (I can do it with my eyes  Cheesy) - it's not a very good indication of whether it has been repaired properly though...

oh wait woops my bad I thought you had this sorted....no you can't just use any SATA drive, don't take it to your electronics teacher (the peopel who always f*** $#!t up the worst are electricians, and the suposed "best friend who knows alot about soldering and electronics") - do you have the key (i'm assuming no ?)...dump the key and put it into another drive and test if that drive works on the 360 still otherwise you have damaged your SB

The problem is the CK3 (p.o.s) - use an RS232, and DOS (use jungle flasher to make the actual firmware...well that's my opinion anyway) and you'll be sweet...initially I thought you were using an RS232 as you said RX and TX soldered...hardmod none of this pissy fake probe $#!t  Grin !!

Although it's not in English I think I get the gist of what your trying to portray...but if you put (what I believe is modeling clay ?) underneath the CPU and GPU this makes the board flex in other areas instead of keeping the whole thing flat (not just the CPU and GPU) but I guess everyone has there own method Wink

I wish you could speak English bonzo Cheesy !!

the verbatim backups are booting fine, and the originals are working fine.

I don't see what the problem is...don't use anything other then Verb's, it just wears out your laser faster...

Does Schtrom work for you ? (I prefer this myself after using XBC for a while) - One thing I noticed is that your drive isn't being detected by XBC under the "log" (unless it's in the part when you scroll up ?)

had the same prob recently and before...for me I replaced the thing that drives the laser and it was all good but I have had to replace whole drives before (don't ask me why...I have absolutely no idea and I have investigated it all to end up still with the same problem) Huh

Interesting way of doing the x-clamp mod bonzo, I want to know why you have protected the area around the chip dies (that is modeling clay your using underneath the board ?) - oh and an easier way to 12v the fans Cheesy (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=637955)

Same reason I don't use Jungle Flasher for modding (i'm not saying it's bad - I actually like it very much but it comes down to a matter of apples and oranges; which you prefer) only for making the Lite-On firmware. I am and have been, always using DOS and an RS232..

I bet it will read any media you throw at it (look at it this way, you can have the only Xbox 360 DVD burner...). 2.4k will fry your laser, and i'll keep saying it in every thread you post in just so no one thinks hey I might as well try it

as I said in the other thread, don't post stupid stuff like that (go on someone make a comment about me  Kiss) - 2.4k will fry your laser
