321  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: IXtreme 1.51 and Jungleflasher 1.51 on: March 07, 2009, 04:49:20 AM
you see, I just noticed something

Quote
Wave X support
Support of future Waves of X360 game disc structures. New partition sizes and video data will be automatically supported and will be allowed to boot.
This represents a possibility of booting a bad backup but now that there is some good tools out there (like abgx360) to check your backups before you boot them, the risk is small.

Where as the real deal's C4E (well i'm hoping) won't allow for such (it will add support for only what is needed I hope), why add support for something that doesn't exist and may not in future - IMHO (and yes i'm not a coder, and I do appreciate it for what it is) it's lazy coding because it hinders more then helps. Just my thoughts...

depends what videos you exactly watched...people (scammers, fakes, try hard modders) call a re-flow taking off the fans and letting it overheat (or liberally using a heat gun if that). Yes I have the proper machines, a proper BGA re-flow is completely different

324  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Questions/Concerns about by current Firmware (Hitachi V79) on: March 07, 2009, 01:24:58 AM
You flash 78 firmware to a 79, that has to be done via the use of an external programmer so you still have 79 firmware however the firmware (78 and 79) is the same (well the 79 has the extra security to stop you from being able to put it into modeB easier...which is now just as easy as a 78) and the same goes for the hacked firmware (although the hacked firmware has the modeB tweak).

You don't need to do anything unless you want to flash the new iXtreme 1.51 that just came out - then all you would need to do is restore the drive, insert your key into the iXtreme 1.51 firmware and flash that OR you could wait for iXtreme 1.6 to come out (from C4E  Smiley !!) and then you can do that the same way or via command prompt...

isn't working you mean...you had me confused for a bit

Did it work previously ? Are you sure it's seated properly ? Can you hear it spin up when attached to this console ? and have you tried re-flowing the HDD pins with a soldering iron (easy peasy) ?

>> TEAM JUNGLE Presents IXtreme 1.51 firmware for all drives & JungleFlasher(info) 1.51...
IXtreme 1.51 Features:
Wave X support
Support of future Waves of X360 game disc structures. New partition sizes and video data will be automatically supported and will be allowed to boot.
This represents a possibility of booting a bad backup but now that there is some good tools out there (like abgx360) to check your backups before you boot them, the risk is small.

So please check your backups to ensure consistency with the original!

Full support to flash all drives in the new Jungleflasher (0.1.51) including easy upgrade for Liteon iX1.5 drives (WIll get all info inc key from drive over SATA)

JungleFlasher 1.51 Features:
We have probably added or changed alot more but this is what we could remember.

- Still requires mode-b but drivers aren't needed anymore or drive letter in windows for drive
- Win API mode for all options if you dont want to use portIO ( fast as hell )

- All previous f/w's have been considered, so restore is as safe as we can make it
- Once drive is restored can be modified to ix 1.51
- Flash iXtreme.. auto-dump/auto-save/auto-add-ixtreme/auto-compare/auto-flash (need to have stock or restored fw first)
- Functions addde to Spoof, change Key, set checksum
- Free flash option is available for advance users which lets you do what you like ( warnings in place )
- Drive refresh includes "Scan for Hardware Changes" to find new hitachi's in windows
- Remove button to remove hitachi safely from windows.
- Auto-detect of hitachi rev from Inquiry..
- 79 unlock option works in PortIO and Win API mode
Read the full feature list here

Technically yes with work (unlike the Wii which is easy to do) as it has been done...but there is no benefit (it can already run Linux, downgrading doesn't let you run copies etc) it is completely useless. As for it having eFuses i'm really not sure as I don't know that much about the PS3

however....a proper BGA re-flow (what I do) the longest one I have done has lasted 1 year (and still running) under heavy use daily, had none back so far (only 1 I couldn't fix due to a torn pad) - when I say proper I mean proper machine - anyway just thought i'd add my 0.2 cents

No your key is not 0000000... that means you have got a bad dump, i'd use mtkflash or dosflash in your case however more information is needed about what chipset you actually have (otherwise yeah it's probably easier to say buy a VIA card for like $12)

just to add to that....Wii does the same thing (i'm not sure about the PS3 as I don't own one, but it probably does this as well) well, minus any possibility for the user not to be able to downgrade (so it's possible).

I doubt you could do it properly (no offence)...to make it permanent you need a proper BGA re-flow - but yes, heatgun the whole board not just the GPU (i.e CPU, RAM, SB)

340  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: NXE causing rrod on: March 03, 2009, 08:09:18 PM
HDMI sound fix f'ing consoles...nope not true - NXE causing RRoD, well "technically" because it is a bit more GUI rich it may in turn produce an RRoD but it was already there (almost broken) prior to the NXE being installed thus not NXE's fault. The same could happen if you ran a demanding game
