No it didn't well it did the first time but only because of not grounding it properly but I managed to replace the chip I fried...you cant brick a Samsung unless you don't ground it properly, you can flash incorrect firmware and still be able to flash the correct one!

Update your firmware to 4.2b (I and many other have had problems with 4.2a for some reason) and it should fix your problem, if not THEN try the rubber band method

Hey guys, my problem is...I have 3 red lights of death immediately after trying heat gun trick many times, started with error 0110 progressed to 0022 now I have progressed to 0003 - when I turn the console on the fans spin just for a second then off also the light on my PSU is orange - I know what your thinking dead PSU right...however if I plug it into another console (error 0020 - after re-baling GPU : p) light turns green etc - I have tried another power supply but nothing!!  I know for sure 100% that both these PSU's are ok, if it helps as soon as I turn it on (the console) it kind of makes a small beep then it does the rest. - No DVD Drive attached, no HDD, in RF sheild but not screwed in, no controllers.  Please, any help appreciated (and kind of be quick because i'm selling this system on eBay but I really do want to fix it!!)

Actually DaMacFunkin I believe that you can get the key via a Slax CD, not 100% sure on this but I am pretty sure that you can.  I know that there is no way possible to flash the chip via software method/s - research my friend

Interesting seeing as I just pulled apart my power brick for fun, I have some interesting notes although this is for a 220v power supply, more than likely it's probably your fuse in your PSU - inside that brick it's a mess of glue it's very very very sloppy and it's not Arctic Silver - just a quick note my fuse was T5AH 250v (get the T for time lag!!) but you will probably need a different one.

YOU DO NOT have problems, I had the same thing and I thought hmm I might download the update but I couldn't.  When it says unknown firmware etc don't worry about it proceed with what you want to do.  I have successfully flashed my drive and had no problems so just continue nothing is wrong - it won't recognize the latest firmwares also because this program was released (this particualr version) probably a little after 4.0 but not 4.1 or 4.2

Just to let you know....you do NOT need to use the 0800 disk to re-flash your drive.  I had Xtreme 4.2 and I put teh key in the wrong location, once I made a proper firmware I was able to flash my drive 4 times with no problems!  Don't waste a DVD!!

The pin below it is pin 9 used for the 2 wire trick so if he has tried this he hasn't actually read the tutorial properly (wherever and whichever one he got) and accidentally connected it to pin 8 instead of pin 9.  I am not sure where it goes to on the mn chip or what it could have done but if you probably search a little you could find that it is maybe a line which carry s power (3.3v or more or something else).  If I get some time (or someone else does) I will try and find a pin -out of the 360 drive power connector I know it's on this board as I have seen it about 5 times
