Probably won't work on 4.2 due to code changes......with X 5 it will support DVD + R, Dual Layer will probably no longer be supported (again due to code changes) - I know it would be hard to completely change the code to accept the DVD + R's...you have to change the media flag stuff etc

2663  General / General Discussion (non-Xbox) / Car Help!! on: December 17, 2006, 11:28:04 PM
Hey guys, my mum had a spare "car key" (electronic, push the button it unlocks no other buttons simple) and it wasn't working...thought ok i'll take a look at it seeing as it doesn't work what can go wrong, checked battery with multimeter put it all back together and it didn't work, so I was like ah well.  Then for some reason i pulled apart the working one and well now it doesn't work!!  I checked the battery with the multimeter (both are fine and working) and all I did was pull the battery out and try it in the other one.  Car still starts/locks (when you push the key in and turn the lock - it locks all the other doors) but now when you push the button it doesn't lock/un-lock like it used to.  I didn't touch anything inside I didn't solder anything etc NOTHING!! I though maybe I have to reset it or something, so I pulled the neg of the battery left it off for like 20secs, put it back on then tried again nothing!  I have checked all the fuses and none are dead (if 1 was dead I would know because 1 fuse sort of controls two things - i.e like the door locking one, if it's blown it won't lock and the radio will not turn on...radio still turns on so it's not dead none are).  Please help me, I have to repair it (mums not really fussed but still) it's $150 for a replacement :0  I figure all they do is get the code of the chip put a new one in bingo $150...dam it.  Please help me please!!!!!!!  Car is a 95' Toyota Lexen

gigabite - Please!! Cheesy

EDIT:  I know why the spare key wasn't working, one day my mum dropped it and it cracked teh solder on one point, re soldered it but still no go!

Or some boxes simply just purely can't be fixed, I had one box like this (when I first received it error 0102 occasionally booted, fixed it then I got this prob after some stuff now it's dead (but look who is laughing now haha see how many errors you can give me without a GPU! Cheesy) hey OPA if your reading this...do you re-ball the GPU's at all ?  I would PM you but I know you have alot of work and stuff so I don't want to annoy you.

You should buy a VIA VT 6241A PCI Sata card, you'll never have problems with ANY drive Wink

2667  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Maximus - TOOLBOX 3.0 for 78 drives!!! on: December 17, 2006, 07:08:30 PM
Chipset....if you want to see what chipset you have (onboard) use this program (http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-138.zip) - (very well known also tells cpu speed etc, over clockers use it and you don't have to install it) if you are using a PCI Sata card then look at the card itself (most people) will have VIA printed on it then next line will be like VIA VT6241A and thats what chipset you have on your PCI Sata card. - man can't wait to test this out...BTW will this do other Hitachi's? And if they have a bad flash can I still use this toolbox to fix them or do I have to re-program it in an external programmer? Try using a VIA VT 6241A card (people who are getting errors etc)

Yes leave it or you can be more safe by using my tutorial (go to TMF's site and look for modding (http://www.freepler.de/userdaten/38928917/html/hp/index.html) my tutorial will be there;)) try heat gun method again and other than that you can't do much also...if you get it to boot again after you do the heat gun method (the first time) leave it on for about 1 hour or 2 in the dashboard (I suspect something personally that may just help other but you can try it - don't worry it will not wreck your console in anyway..report back I have an idea!) then play your games or dvd etc...I had the same prob right before my console completely died (well I showed it a thing or 2, now who's laughing, lets see how many errors you give me without a GPU haahha!!XD)...it froze fir the firt time in a game I was like hmm maybe because I was using 4.2A so I tried B and I lost the problems I had with A (sometimes it gave me errors just as I would get if I didn't have key in correct location but I did trust me).  SO I thought great no probs, then in the middle of a game (baring in mind all of this is into like 20min in a game NO over heating etc as I played for hours other times) it froze with a green screen I was like dam I feel heat gun comming on...so I turned it off and did some other stuff, next day went to play a DVD and just when I started the DVD froze to green screen, restarted audio but no vid I was like dam crap ass cable then I tried hot gun method got error 0110 from cold boot, again hot gun, error 0020, again, 0022, re-balled GPU discovered why it wasn't working because there were already pads lifted from the board!!!! M$ !!!! Anywayz sorry for going on a bit lol (2 dead 360's in my house atm) try hot gun trick and if you want my tutorial on fans Wink

Yeah just screw the mobo into the computer case with some good size screws that fit, it will be fine (if you don't trust me why think...why do they say you must provide your 360 with a path to true ground and they say to connect it to the computer chassis via corc clips Wink) - good luck

Not quite understanding what your trying to say - but g00gle Ben Heck (I think thats his name) he made a one handed controller for an injured soldier in Iraq - he also will build custom projects...if you can't find what i'm talking about search for things like one handed Xbox 360 controller etc then also try looking on Xboxscene at the posts on the front page because it was posted there.  If you get really stuck then post back here i;m sure someone will post a link if you are really struggling but you should be right Wink!!

Try upgrading the firmware, check if your disk is scratched if you have any solder splashes etc..

You blew a capacitor...hmmm, dam hard to check if it's working - I have a bag of XB1 parts but I dunno if these are the right ones...none of my caps on this particular board are recked.  Well a small amount if the plastic on one of the yellow ones is melted (but I suspect everything is fine as it's not bulging no stuffs coming out of it etc)...i'll be willing to try to fix this (if someone doesn't buy it on eBay first) but I need to know how to test if it's ok.  I know what i'm doin but this is very very weird...GPU know is ok (well should be) only error I get is 0003...

Sounds like you have a Hitachi and by the sounds of it you have left it or put it in mode B or something, tried restarting checking ALL cables etc??

Read and research - what drive do you have, depends how good you are with things, certain drives are easier to do then others!
