^^ Yeah I mean it was something like $9US or something, why dosn't OPA, C4e etc buy it and try do something with it.... my main guess is because those drives don't come with the 360 anymore...BUT it could be a very good reason for repairs Wink

Xbox 360 or Xbox 1?  if it's XB1, re-place the drive, if it's XB360 then de-solder the chip, read it get the key and re-program a new drive :p

Your key IS NOT, in the right place.  That is 100% your problem...use firmware toolbox it's easier (BTW you don't need to encrypt firmware) copy key from Hitachi, open up Samsung firmware (hacked or orig, i'd go orig first) then paste...flash etc then do hacked...

I suspect the gold strip your talking about is the type of strips they use on HDD's sometimes, you can't peel them of without leaving some behind or breaking it...dunno why they bothered to use strips on those drives (not like any of us are gonna try vcc trick on it:p - we got no reason to open it up) ahh M$ :p Try restoring etc like people have said..

Depends if you or the back - up software hasn't modified any xbes etc...as for steps you'll have to read until I release a guide :p

So it won't play in the 360...meaning whatever you used to back it up (for Xbox) has modified the xbe headers etc breaking the signature making it invalid so it will not boot....use XbeFixer, it's on the forum made by someone on this forum :p

Not to high jack the thread (bu it's better than making a new one as people say) but i'm getting the correct programmer and socket etc very soon (Williem and yes I have checked versions etc etc)...after I de-solder the chip and hook it all up (say it's a bad flash) all I do is run the restore.bat file correct, or do I manually put the origional firmware (from you package OPA) on to the drive?
