Please don't post stupid things
....yeah smart a$$, I haven't done it properly and I didn't re - attach it.

I *think* (based on what I read on an XBS post) I know what solder ball size to use, 0.24mil for both CPU and GPU

2063  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re balling questions, please answer ! on: May 14, 2007, 02:54:18 AM
First question, what size solder balls do you use ?

Second question, where can I get a "scoop/spatula" tip for my soldering iron (I will consider buying a new iron if that's what it comes too) ?

Third question, for de-soldering which technique is best (blotching or doing 1 whole line at once) ?

Fourth question, how many watts should the iron for de-soldering be ?

Fifth question, when im re-attaching my solder balls/spheres do I need to use a re-flow oven ? (or could i use an iron or the heat gun ? )

I've read alot, and I really need to know ANY information you have about it as I need (not want) to do this to my console.  Please don't post stupid things and please don't lock this post, please post any links you can Wink Thanks very much guys

Well if he dosen't use live he will be safe, even after the update (assuming he dose not connect to live again unless it's for another update etc)...but...like the README's say, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK !  Yes probably at a later date the update will be put onto newer games (HALO 3...probably)

2066  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Restore of hitachi fw - question on: May 11, 2007, 06:52:42 PM
Correct, you DO NOT need your original fw to restore any Hitachi drive to it's "un-modded"/prior state Wink

>> commodore4eva has released his version of 2.4 firmware for Hitachi GDR-3120L drives. Whats new:
(2.4) Added Disc-Jitter for Challenge types 5/7 to all Hitach firmwares.

Always recommended: If your drive is flashed USE A RESTORE FIRST
(Use the restore included on this package)

Notes about this release:
This version is a set of batch files, like the previous garyopa hitachi releases. This version has been done for several days, as c4e had originally implemented the disc-jitter on hitachi drives, but wanted to fully test all drives before public use. This version will not support v78 drives (use fw toolbox 3.1) but does provide the most stable flashing routines for v32-v59 Hitachi drives. This release still contains the F900 (game SS ripping core) and firmware Stealth, both of which are removed in fw toolbox 3.1 version.

^^OFF TOPIC:...do you know how much they charge for things and get away with things (court cases, not releasing things as promised), and do you know why ?  Because "THEY" can - ON TOPIC: wasn't this topic supposed to be about the spring update and not piracy btw : p !  Well may as well ask a question, does anyone know if this kernel version actually checks for blown eFuses (4552 does not...does this one ?).

timing...EXACT...you can synchronize your fingers can't you : p?...when you press esc after your port aio error thing tell me what code you get (code 50 (could be 0) if i rember correctly is your timing was to slow (it's looking for code 70 and that's displayed IMMEDIATELLY after power on...which is why your timing needs to be precise)....by your errors it looks as if you just haven't got your timing right...ow BTW...use Xtreme Boot Maker to make yourself a custom mtkflash (while your there apply the bokes ms 28 patch and the bad flash ms 28 patch (or whatever it's called just tick both boxes) ) then try that process exactly again...remembering to turn off the xbox when you get to : Xtreme Primary Master X then continue from there....it's only bringing up master and slave because; you either still have a drive/s connected or you haven't made a custom mtkflash

When you get to the selection : Xtreme blah blah, turn of the 360...then at the same time press whatever the number is next to the "Xtreme Primary Master : X (X being the number you have to press while...) as pressing the 360 power button...one finger on the power button and one on the number on the keyboard Wink...still don't work, turn of plug and play os in your BIOS and pull out all ide and sata drives Wink still don't work?? then keep trying cause your timing isn't right

>> Whats New:
(v5.3) Disc-Jitter added for Challenge Types 5/7 to avoid possible replay detection.
Disc-Jitter is slight randomization added to the result of Challenge types 5 and 7 so as to emulate a result from an actual physical drive.
This is to avoid any possible replay detection.

Get a high powered torch (make sure the batteries are new), turn it on and flash the left side of the console (where the DVD drive is located)...once your done your Xbox 360 will play genuine games and backed up games, this is what's known as flashing your dvd drives firmware Cheesy
