someone will probably beat me to it, but if not, I will try get my stuff built as fast as possible...then get my CPU key etc (refer to thread "when the going gets tough...) then test the new update and see if it still works...it is interesting

*a minor update*: I have decided, that tomorrow...I will walk to the shops and get my PCB and pin headers...and more wire - before I go ahead, if anyone could quickly recommend wich "version" of board I should build that is "the best" i'd appreciate it [i've seen a couple of different "versions" SOWA...ChipD etc].  If it makes a difference I WILL NOT be etching my own PCB (would like to,and I have done it before, but don't have the tools and it's gotta be easy, as I have to make a tutorial out of it) - cheers

Is the KK exploit the only way to get the CPU key?

Yes

And, were there any exploits ever managed w/ the kiosk disk?

No (do some more research mate...the xex key for this was blacklisted in later versions of the kernel (so the first update that came out (if I rember correctly)...it's an interesting idea but has been thought of many times before Wink )

oh if you want a confirmed "playing stealth/non stealth back ups OFFLINE does it result in banning/are M$ logging" the answer from all of my customers with DUAL BOOT firmware, has been No, they have not been banned (mixture of iXtreme and Xtreme....and only originals online - a few have even used a backup online by accident) - on a side note, I have had a few that have been banned from the "certain games" with different SS's (all iXtreme)

If a component/s is gone, you need to re-solder it back on...be careful you don't rip the pad eh (the "usual" ones go to there own pad...and depending on what has happen you can make a bridge between certain ones and certain "ends")...as for a replacement, just grab one of the same size, and colour off anything...or you can order them (farnel (my new store for everything hehe) should have some...I don't know of the actual "rating" though I know someone did measure it so use the search function)

If you lost your key or you are having problems with it, there is nothing you can do you are now the owner of a brick  Cry

Here is one thing that you can not do:

Run an exploit

The reason why is that you need to have a working drive to run the exploit, wich means you need a correct key (and need to know it to make a hacked firmware, to run a patched king kong disk)

SO - do NOT ask questions in ANY thread, this is real...get over it, next time stop trying to save your self money and send your console to a professional

[the point of this thread: this is for all the n00bs who lost there key, maybe Arakon or someone could pin this up to stop the countless threads/questions about "getting the key" etc Huh]

UPDATE: Because I have the time to post (and I didn't at the time) I have now ordered the components, they should come in 4-5 days (nothing gets posted, shipped etc here on the weekends and it takes 3 days express post).  The total cost for components including GST (tax) in Australian dollars, was $12.50 + $10 for express postage

Well...temperature in celcius, on a drive with no epoxy 200-300...on a drive with epoxy (because there is some under the chip) 500 degrees...when, well as my words put it lol "when you smell it just, heating up" (I did that basically all in 2 takes and I thought of it on the spot too) - basically, a more precise way to tell is if your looking at the epoxy (that's never been tampered with...i.e someone else has tried to remove it) then you will notice when it gets to the "ideal" temperature epoxy with bubbles and thin parts will actualy go a little clearer...not clear but just a little clearer..noticeable

gigabite (gonna try do it today, just have to reconvert the whole vid...check it and upload part 2 and the "full" thing seperatelly)
1599  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 "Modding" / Re: Heatsink upgrades on: November 30, 2007, 05:16:14 PM
...well, the 65nm CPU can be told by looking at the markings (old CPU A0 - new CPU A1 [confirmed by a M$ dude on xbox forums])...the supposed 65nm GPU has smd caps in the right hand corner (looking at the markings "Microsoft" "the right way")...i'm sure oneohm knows his stuff but I thought 65nm GPU's were supposed to come out early next year?...as for 45nm GPU I have heard that from one other source...hmm in the meantime, i'm still getting Sammy MS28 drives in brand new boxes with new warranty stickers and new GPU heatsinks and 5759 kernal...weird (Australia)
