^^haha you think that is challenging for me...pff as if...Xbox 1 top D0 is challenging with "30 Guage" (2mm insulated) thick wire - smd components with a $13 soldering iron and a 3.0mm tip is tricky lol Wink

1523  Research & Technical XboxHacking (Xbox 360) / DVD-ROM Drive and Media / Re: Benq Dvd Drive Led Activity Mod!, Is It Possible - Has any one done it? on: December 16, 2007, 07:00:46 PM
No it has never been done, so basically your LED is going to blink when you get activity on the SATA port ...now you will need to solder your LED to a power source (whatever the LED might be...such as 3.3v, solder it to a 5v power source with a 100ohm resistor) then connect the negative side of it, to a DATA pin of the SATA connector connecting to the dvd drive motherboard, you can solder on the pin its self or the bottom of the connector...

this is for if you want your LED to blink when you transmit data:

http://img176.imageshack.us/my.php?image=connsata2hn4.gif

and this is if you want your LED to blink when you receive data:

http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=connsatafz4.gif

try that, and let me know how you go - anyone else wanting to try it...it will work on any drive (that's from my head but logically it should work...unless of course you get to much data being received or transmitted...then your LED might just stay on)

there are many reasons you can get banned......regardless of what firmware you have

Bad CRC - Check your back-ups with Kreon Checker
Not Stealthed Properly - Check your back-ups with XDVDMULLETER
Playing scene releases
Playing releases of games before there official launch date
Playing different region of game than you wouldn't be able to buy in your country
Doing something bad on XBL (cheating, calling names, whatever you get the point)

yeap yeap yeap I know, problem is last time I looked for breadboard/vero board/pcb/whatever you want to call it - no shops had it in stock...i'm still searching and if I come across some PCB then i'll buy it (also thanks for the pics caster cause I wanted one the exact same size...and you have showed me the bottom joined up Wink )

yes you are right there, there shouldn't be any gap - reset the heatsink and while your there, may as well do the CPU and GPU with AS5...

that's what I was worried about...anyway...i'm just waiting on what to do now, robinsod suggested de-bugging...I think i'm going to try go back to the shops again or search other shops and get some PCB (as robinsod told me the quad comparters most likely were not damaged) - see i'm always trying !!

1529  General / General Discussion (non-Xbox) / Re: When the going gets tough..... on: December 16, 2007, 12:48:15 AM
Ok so I tried...and ah failed, I figured I would...I didn't really care - must have wired something incorrectly cause when I was de-soldering everything I noticed the hot glue I put on the end of the quad comparters was melted - so obviously it got really hot ha..oh well no harm done, everything working A ok Smiley - so I guess this project is back to the halted stage until robinsod decides what's going on (before you judge my skill, cardboard is $#!t...PCB is alot better - rember that)

ahh ok cool, so I don't have to worry about if I got the caps the wrong way...good Smiley - i'm sure everything is correct.

someone with good eyes will have bad eyes after looking at those blurry pics
XD !!! Seriously this camera is really really bad, you can take 5 shots before you need to put in fresh batteries...and no I wasn't zoomed in, or standing to close, or had the flash on (1 of the pics I did but by mistake) and I didn't shake the camera...it's just crap...full stop...anyway...as for interference and working...it's actually quite neat underneath a couple of long wires...most of the stuff that had to be joined is joined vis the actual (for example) resistors legs - still a really crap idea to use cardboard pfff...if I find some PCB at the shop (even after I finish with what I need) i'll transfer it over - anyway...i'm off to start...to TRY [hoping it works] see if I can get my CPU key

1531  General / General Discussion (non-Xbox) / Re: When the going gets tough..... on: December 15, 2007, 07:11:33 AM
Game ON !! - [card] board built - ok now I am 99% sure it is all correct...now if someone with good eyes could check over it i'd appreciate it...really sorry for the picture quality...you probably can't see, but on each quad comparter there is 1 pin wich is un-used (this is correct ?)...pictures 56K USER WARNING

now one more thing I wanted to confirm is (I can't rember from school) - you can tell the negative on the capacitors by looking on it..it will have a little feint line and a little mark in pencil on one side yeah ?...that marked side is negative mhmm (or is there no polarity on these caps ?) Huh

OH and I know my comparters AND diode are around the right way - and for those of you who looked at my red dotted pic, I know my markings were wrong with the capacitor numbers were backwards

gigabite - o one more thing...the wire colors mean nothing, those were the wires that came into my hand at the time
1532  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: NTSC and PAL visual differences on: December 15, 2007, 01:53:25 AM
ahh cheers for that mate, so to anyone out there that's a cheapo - you can modify your technically now "old" PSU to work on a technically "new" motherboard

1534  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: NTSC and PAL visual differences on: December 14, 2007, 08:08:44 PM
interesting...im sure that the motherboard is actually getting the same v's as the other psu on the same pins...i.e you could modify the end on the psu...then again, maybe not cause that's why they added the plastic bit so you couldn't mix old and new psu's up so you wouldn't kill something if you plugged an "old" psu into a "new" motherboard (new being...with this "new" connector)...

to expand on that further (wich I have said in other threads) - 2RL errors, commonly 0020 CAN be produced if you have not screwed in all the screws (minus the ROL board screws and the 6 long case screws)

That's an old version of Schtrom - 3.4 is out...if there is no vid partition on the disk it is NOT stealth therfore will NOT boot on iXtreme firmware

Try unplugging all your devices...(not PCI cards...hard dives etc) and try again
