ok master of the  "check your SMD caps" here Wink - now...if you lost it...it's ok don't panic, first...DO NOT BRIDGE THE POINTS !!!! now...you'll need to either get replacement ones...or find something of the exact same size and colour (check this thread I made...it will be very helpfull http://www.xboxhacker.net/index.php?topic=7197.0) now in the first place where I say resistor...I mean capacitor : p and where I say silicon the board - it's highly advised...but make sure it's fully dried (3-4 days) and that you put tape over the silicon...and you cover your x-clamps (if your using them) in tape also..minus the bit where the screw goes in - but...if your using the llama method (it's actually the X-Clamp Mod is what it's called) - wich I advise you do (in your case) then just place some electrical tape over the silicon (the reason why you cover the stock x-clamps in tape is because otherwise when the board heats up the silicon will stick to the clamp...if something goes wrong later on, it makes it harder to remove the clamps)...I hope that helps, if you need more help PM me or MSN

certain cards only work with certain ports for flashing etc...I did the same type of thing on an old card, hot glue your cable to the sata port - just make sure you get it making connection to all pins and it's the right way around Wink

possible to brick the drive via reading...and it's a benQ...nope - as long as you don't use the "old" method (cut the traces)....use dosflash 1.4 beta and your good Wink you can check your dump is ok by using firmware toolbox 4.6 - if the file size is 256kb...your drive is detected and your key is 32 digits long (letters and numbers) and dosen't only consist of all FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF then you know it's good

yes....you could also copy it to an XD card (check the xd card thread - search)...but only 2 specific readers work - buy a 360...just research the hairdryer trick also...

^^ XD tiros is right guys - the solders melting point is DRAMATICALLY increased as the 360 becomes hotter and cool etc...so...some serious intense heat (wich most smd rework stations...rework stations NOT reflow OVENS can't reach....plus..it needs bottom heat also..hence the need for a pre heater or an oven) is needed to RE melt that solder just to de-solder it

Well made this cause I was bored, and inspired from my last christmas poem - for all the poor people who got banned from XBL (note this isn't me..ha for you suckers  - read on....helps if you play the song first...or at least can rember the way it goes)

Song: Billie Jean
Artist: Michael Jackson gigabite

he was more like a drama queen from a movie scene'a
i said don't mind, but what do you mean I am the one
who will be...banned from...xbox live
he said...i would be...banned from live

he told me his name was Billie G, as he caused a scene
then i said how did you get a hold of meeeeeeeeee....and why
did you come....to tell me...i had been...banned...from live

people always told me be careful what you do
and don't go around playing un-stealthed rips on live (ooohh)
and mother always told me be careful of what you do
be careful of what you do... 'cause fake personal information can get ya banned too (hey ay ya)

Billie G's not my father
hes just a dude that claims that I am the one
but...my live account is gone

for 364 days and for 1 night
I was on his side
but who can stand when he makes demands
then schemes and plans
'cause i used....XBL....to play around
so take my strong advice, just remember to check those rips twice
(check them twice, check them twice whooo)

he caught me while I was playing at an un-stealthed cooopy...of PGR 3 ya
then came the screen on my 360 wich told me ya
there was a problem with myyyyhiiiiii xbox LIVE
i said $#!t
checked my cables...then tried....to re-sign

people always told me be careful what you do
and don't go around playing un-stealthed rips on live (ooohh)
and mother always told me be careful of what you do
be careful of what you do... 'cause fake personal information can get ya banned too (hey ay ya)

Billie G's not my father
hes just a dude that claims that I am the one
but...my live account is gone

everything you said is right arakon except I technically disagree
Quote
all premiums and cores use the same components as the elite does now
....minus everything and cut through the fat new aus premium consoles..are STILL churning out ms28's (or benq's), with no epoxy on cpu or gpu...new warranty sticker and new gpu heatsink (and the gpu heatsink came out AFTER the epoxy) - but that's in aus..the lace where everything is about 1 year behind  Embarrassed

wow that's a very very very neat solution for de-soldering...man that's very cool way worth the 14,500 if you know how to professionally re-ball them AFTER you de-soldered them....i've done heaps of research into this (a little of the problem also but we all knew it) it is very expensive and VERY hard to get right...with the 360 being the prices they are now...you'd need to be re-balling TONS of units to make any profit because you'd have to charge cheap...like what about $250...then for another $30 you get an arcade...and for a bit more you get a pro...so cost vs time, effort, equipment etc...is NOT worth doing it now (unless your working global scale reparing motherboards from repair centers, dim sims anyone  Roll Eyes)

well...last release of fw toolbox said next version WOULD have 79 software flashing support...so I guess it's being worked on - anything is possible Smiley  !!

possible in future..well anythings possible...i'd go for an elite as they all have the CPU and GPU glued down AND a bigger HDD...the epoxy helps prevent RROD...you can already store music on any 360 HDD btw (oh well only mp3's technically but still...)

1478  Research & Technical XboxHacking (Xbox 360) / DVD-ROM Drive and Media / Re: Replacement drive, have I got this right? on: December 27, 2007, 10:15:23 AM
yes correct procedure BUT not differential flash...mtkflash (use XBC to make you a custom one...use 36 version)...different program than fw toolbox...personally your chances of you NOT getting banned on LIVE are slim so screw the Hitachi...go Samsung (tha best) and if given the option (ms25 or ms28) get the ms 25 (if your buying from gameconsolehk...oh yeah I seen ya...thought you could take away an extra $25 from me for an "ms28" but had the sticker ripped off...) there EXACTLY the same anyway except for firmguard in the firmware - supposed to "prevent" users from flashing there drive...it never did Cheesy -

1479  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Things to consider before buying Xbox 360 on: December 27, 2007, 10:09:22 AM
Right now there is only one way you can mod your Xbox 360 to play burnt games...flash it (eh excluding the chip..), wich means change the dvd drives firmware with a hacked one so it CAN play burnt games - there are a couple of programs to do it (not do able on a laptop of course...welll....it's very hard, and almost impossible) but only 1 way to do "it"....chip does the SAME thing as a flash...except it "falls asleep" (turns off...but yes even this can be detected too wich means BAN on LIVE) and is overpriced...(pioneer 111d...overprice...$40AU...I haven't seen a cheaper burner in my life YET !) - to get the newest dashboards you do NOT need LIVE you can download them from the xbox website (xbox.com) BUT...specifically for DIVX support you WILL need LIVE to download the codec...oh and a divx encoded disk/movie etc whatever of course Wink - you want LIVE don't get a modded box period

1480  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Things to consider before buying Xbox 360 on: December 27, 2007, 07:47:54 AM
Ok well your buying a modded 360 - so don't expect to get use of LIVE...as you'll probably get banned...i'd suggest

you have a DVD burner wich burns Dual Layer DVD's (if you don't buy a Pioneer 111D...can be found anywhere dirt cheap and great burner)

a "kreon drive" (eBay)

and try pick a modded 360 with a Samsung drive (http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u69/bLuEb0x/Xbox%20360/360DVDDrives.jpg) - they are the best Wink
