^^ why was it you ? - on a side note they look real enough, so the game has a fair amount of achievements...big deal I don't get what's so about it...though it isn't 'released' anywhere yet so could be someone from rock star....I got it ! - uberfry you were targeted by a rockstar dev as part of 'operation gamers hype' because they knew you were going to post the link on XBH, then it'd get posted everywhere and gamers would be like gimeme haha gigabite

Well actually, a customer did the same thing and also panicked because he removed the 0 ohm resistor...all I did was bridge the 0 ohm resistor and it was working 100% ok - you however may be un-lucky...you could have done a number of things though BUT I suggest not messing about and leaving it to a pro, in the worst possible case if the firmware chip IS dead they can still be read by external programmers (i've done heaps) so you can still get your key...don't panic and pay for a pro is my advice

the actual program dosflash 16 probably works in Windows, but as for it flashing anything running IN windows it will not work (hence dosflash 32)...as for USB version of Slax (bootable from USB i'm assuming that's what you mean) - no there is not a USB bootable Slax (only via CD or DVD), good luck with VB

well, don't get me started with llama first there "leave the fans off it re-melts the solder under the chip" is complete bull$#!t to the highest degree, second...the 3RL problems occur because the board flexs - I know your all saying the chip can only take x amount of heat for so long but this isn't true...cause again I use 600 degrees celcius blah blah blah anyway the point is it is i'm practically de-soldering the chip and re-soldering it (on boards with other problems that were un-fixable due to something else I have de-soldered the chips at this temp for fun, all you have to do is get a scalpel and lift one side or slide it away) which is why it works every time because to de-solder it...ALL of the solder has to melt (because you can't have some of it sticking otherwise you wouldn't be able to do it...if this was your goal, which it isn't) so once all the solder has melted blah blah blah when it's all finished...the board is completely flat and isn't flexed in one direction and all the chips have been re-flowed (practically re-soldered without the new solder) and are lying flat as for this washers thing you mentioned, I don't quite get what your saying....personally I am able to create a "gap" between each heatsink which is actually a little bit lower than the stock "way" the heat sinks are at..a good way to tell what i'm talking about, go around to the back of the motherboard (with a heatsink on) and look at the GPU side on the left...there is a voltage regulator there, my way of finishing has the ever so slightest gap between that voltage regulator and the heatsink (practically touching) - but it's EXACTLY even on all sides of ALL heat sinks (measure this with 2 washers stacked...that's my "gap") - besides this is Australia and I can't even find stupid plastic washers (which I initially set out to find but gave up) !!! gigabite

The reason you might sometimes see back-ups working and originals not working is: take a look at the back of your original disk, and take a look at the back of your backed up disk...what's the difference ? one is silver, one is purple you say ahh - in simple terms, purple die is the highest quality die you can get while silver is not very good... gigabite

Try cleaning the disk first, but if the disk is fine then yes it's the laser - you could tweak the pot and clean it but buying a laser is what your going to have to do in the end...how to replace a laser, very easy - open your drive (6 phillip head screws on Hitachi) then, unplug the ffc cable (ribbon), go to the end of rail which holds the laser...there will be a screw, you will only need to unscrew one side (the side which has a white bit which slides along a gold twirly rail)...mind the grease, it's supposed to be there...don't touch it or clean it. Slide your laser off the rail, slide your new one on the right way...attach it to the other side...screw it on..slide it carefully a little manually (it should slide fine one way and slip just a little the other) - hook the other end of your cable back up and your all done...oh, just make sure you remove the anti static solder blob (some eBay sellers do this for $1) otherwise the laser won't work

^^ nobody has the knowledge (ever heard of the word secret ?), your in a forum which made THE Xbox THE Xbox and the 360 THE 360...seriously i'm not going to spell it out...as soon as you flash your drive with ANY firmware...your logged..what, how, where, who..but iXtreme defeats all "current" protection...the answers are in front of you, and no...iXtreme don't do sh!t but allow you to play burnt games, god i've put off from not commenting on so many threads - better yet i'll make it simpler, look at the signature

do not solder your board directly onto your infectus....the PCB "width" is to thick (believe me, the quick solder option to 99% of things always has problems) - idgtool never has a problem with ANY computer...(though I probably wouldn't use Vista but that's just my feelings on it, works fine iirc) - use 30 gauge wire for EVERYTHING and that includes wiring the addon seperatelly to the infectus and screw your board back into the grounding case before turning it on or doing any hacking (otherwise you will *usually* get 0020 due to improper grounding)

yeh was waiting for someone to bring it up again...it takes about 4/5 times of typing in a user name and pass and refreshing before it will actually log me in (i've gotten to the point where I can now accurately predict when it will work) - why does this happen (I know it's nothing on my side) and will it ever be fixed (server problem?)
