The retail image still uses the glitch chip to boot so pretty sure the wiring all good
Thats not what he is saying. There are several threads about routing your wires in certain ways and to keep the wiring from certain places. Sometimes it helps but all this mess is still up in the air imho. I just think its the nature of the hack in where some 360's just handle it much better than others but again idk.

I bet you did not use Search. The topic with a fix is several treads below this - http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=17434.0. Had the same problem, it's white chineese chip problem. [/quote] Did i miss something here?? Ive read over his post several times and never once saw where he said he used that cpld. So which leads me to think that may not be his problem. Now if he IS infact using this cpld then you just got extremly lucky with you post. edit:damn he replyed while i was making my post....lucky guess huh.

Honestly this kind of thing is normal from what ive seen around. Just look around and use some of the different methods of getting better boot times and such. Some ppl lengthen some wires, others loop them around things, some add caps to different spots, it just seems that everybody's 360 is different. No 2 are alike. Just look around and im sure you will find an almost unlimited amount of info on this kind of thing. Just try each one till you find what works for you.
My slim for example has horrible boot times when its cold(hasnt run for about a day) but after that first boot it will boot consistantly around 20-30sec every boot for the rest of the day. Its just that first boot that it doesnt like. I can sit there for 5 min sometimes before i have to shut it down and try again but after that first one i have zero issues the rest of the day.
The way i look at it is, this hack is a "glitch" on the system so it cant possibly ever be perfect like we all would like. I honestly dont think it will ever be perfect or that we will EVER find that "one certain thing" that makes it perfect. Good luck though. Im not trying to talk $#!t about the hack because its one of the best things we have seen in the 360 world and its opened up a whole new world for us. But it is what it is......a "glitch".

Yes it looks to me like it can be repaired but like l_oliveira said, its gonna be fugly:P. But hey if it works then who cares?? We've all done things like this before(i know i have) but its all part of the learning process.
I personally learned on old xbox1s. I couldnt begin to tell you how many ive destroyed and had to trash. I didnt take anybody's advice to learn on an old pcb, i jumped right on the xbox with absolute ZERO soldering exp. But i took the hard road in learning to solder and to tell you the truth i believe i have become much better at it because of that.
Honestly the traces dont look that bad to me. Just use some kynar to scab the traces and use some good flux. After you think you have it right text it with a multimeter and if all is well hot glue the $#!t out of it. Just be sure to take your time on it and you can get it if your hands are steady enough.
ps: I love hot glue too backinblack. I dont think i could ever solder again if i knew i had to go at it without hot glue. Its God's gift to us geeks:P.

Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: 360 Slim Dual Nand Only Loading Xell After 13604 XBL Update...
|
on: December 06, 2011, 04:42:38 PM

FACT: if you upgrade original nand freeboot won't boot anymore (LDV +1) but xellous will boot (no LDV check), so you can start Xellous with network plugged in, use http connection to get the RAW FLASH after switching NANDs on the FLY, if you are desperate to get original upgraded nand, it will work, I tested it 2 times just to be sure... the downside is 1 F**king hour to wait O_O Some images: Wow ive never heard of it taking that long through xell. I can download mine in around a min or so. Something is wrong there for it to be taking that long.

Well from my exp. when its glitching fast instead of every 5 sec or so then its something in your wiring. Check that and re-solder to see if that helps, like i said ive had that happen on me a few times and it always leads back to my wiring.

Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: How to set FanSpeed to 100%
|

would any of these work on the slim, as the fan speed sliders do not work in freestyle on RGH slim. if these so not work is there any other way of setting the fan speeds, i have read of editing the smc.config. would that be a better option. thanks.............sudeki300
Well idk about any of the patches around but you can just use flashtool to set your speeds to whatever you want. I did it on my slim and they NEVER go above 50c even under a load, pretty good temps id say. did you just change both the CPU and GPU fan sliders in the config page of flashtool, what % have you got yours set to.....................sudeki300 i have just tried to edit the fan speed using flashtool and checked the nand image with nand compare after and it shows 4 non-matching block(s) found 3DC, 3DD, 3DE, 3DF. is this ok to still flash the nand back onto the slim. Yes i just put them both to 100%. You can put yours to whatever you want but honestly i would move them together because well, theres only one fan in the slims. But as for the differences in the nand images what did you think would happen(key word coming up)after you "edited" the nand image?? Yes its safe to flash and for some unseen reason it doesnt work you can always just flash your original back, but im sure you wont have to resort to that.

Just try it and if it dont work then flash back. Its not rocket science.

Bincrypt says operation failed when i try to open the BB jasper image.
Try build 35 because i dont think the one he has uploaded supports bb images. I use build 35 with all my bb images and it works perfecly can you provide a link? on xbins its only available build 0028 Here you go. I just uploaded it on megaupload so if the mods or phonsey want to then they can update the first post with this link. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5BUS9WDN
