Ok, my mobo is the Falcon style. I ask where the chip is because the bigger of the two chips right below the ethernet module is missing when compared to my Zypher board. I've been looking up pictures on the net to see if it really is susposed to have a chip there or if the small one that is there is the only one that should be. I've found pictures of it both being there and with only the small square chip, so I'm confused as to weither or not the board is actually damage/missing a vital component that could be causing my E73 error

Ok, so I have a new development with my problem. I snagged another console and switched the drives in them to see if a new one would possibly work, and it did. So I at least know that the I/O port on my board isn't fried, it's just the drive.

Well I've got that problem too. I snagged a 360 from my friend to try to fix it and this is the error code it gets. All I need is a picture of where the ethernet chip is and I can fix it

Yeah I'm with Gigabite on this one. I bought my 360 off ebay refurbished and came to find out it had already had the x-clamp mod done to it. If you don't have just the right amount of tension on both of processors, it will either give you two red lights or three. Three will mean the screws are too tight and two means too loose. I went through this right before my drive gave out on me.

Ok yeah, so the drive won't even open when I try to get it into Mode B. Still acts like it has no power so I guess I'm just gonna have to pull the chip and read it....except I don't know which chip it is or how to read it or anything.

Ok, so if I need to get a new drive, does it need to be the exact same model? And where can I buy a reader/programmer board?

How do I restore it back to it's original state?

In order to dump the key the drive has to have power doesn't it? So if it's not getting power from the xbox when I link it up with my pc, where is it going to get it from? As far as I know, you need to leave the power cable connected to it and the xbox's mother board while linking the sata cable in order to get it into Mode B.

So if the drive is dead, then how would I get the ID key off the drive to flash to a new one?

So, I recently overcame my RRoD on my 360. Excited as all get out, I went to test it out and noticed that the center led was flashing non-stop, which I know means the dvd drive wasn't connected. I tore it apart to check it, found it was connected, checked for loose wires and tried again...to no luck. I've been trying whatever I can think of for the past three days, to no luck. I've looked this issue up in multiple forums and found little to no good information about what is happening. I have found one and only one forum that suggests that the I/O port on the mother board could be fried.

As for the actually symptoms of the problem, my drive won't open, close, or read anything. My dash board will say opening, closing, reading and all that mess when you push the button, but the drive acts as if it has no power. I've checked the power cable and I think it's good. I've switched sata cables and know that's not the problem. From what I've seen on the forum, the console isn't receiving any signal from the drive as to its status, so it acts as if it's not connected. I don't know how to fix it (not all the technical terms, such as I/O, I just know what it is) and would greatly appreciate any and all help that is contributed to this topic
