just do what n00bpwner360 said...don't worry about hiding it just place it anywhere, put some tap down on wherever you intend to put it then put some tape on top of it to hold the resistor down and solder a wire to each leg and to each pad (resistors don't have a polarity, meaning it doesn't matter which wire goes to which pad). Hope that helps

Thanks for all the assist guys..found a guy in town with a bunch of SMD and the iron for it...so he'll take care of it..Cheers Guys

hell no. resistors are there for a reason. if you bridge a 10 kohm resistor, you're likely letting 4-10x more voltage flow than intended. BAD idea.

Agreed, don't bridge it. If you desoldered it, get a 10k ohm resistor from radioshack or wherever, hide it somewhere in the drive (on the other side of the circuit board maybe?) and then run 2 wires from it to the pads where the original resistor went. (Or you could get an SMD resistor that's 10k but I guess they are harder to come by)

Unfortunately...you've lost me...SMD resistor? Is that the kind that's there? other wise any 10K should work correct? And it is 10K i don't know about the other fella who said it...as he things bridging is a good idea..i don't know if he even knows the impedance of the resistor...anyone else?

You agree though it's a 10 ohm resistor? Or were you just correcting that?

And agreed..i know better then to bridge and leave out a resistor...

Ok so seems noobish..it is...story isn't gonna make much difference but there was a mess up...

what i do need to know if anyone has an idea is what impedance the resistor pointed out in the picture is

and yes i stole this pic from another post.

the R710 resistor.

Thanks
