Actually, you can buy ANY Xbox 360 dvd drive, doesn't nessearly need to be Hitachi (Although recommanded)
If you buy a samsung, benq, or liteon, you need to spoof the firmware afterward, that's all.

I assume he meant on his PS3?  I think there was an engadget article about it, even.
No, not on my PS3...
The guy who did it on the PS3 is using the same method, running it in QEMU within a linux distro

Well if you believe ure PCB is fine, simply buy another identical drive and swap the PCB. That will work.
Also, it's not called "hot-swappable". That's something completely different

of course it's writable, how else would it store dashboard settings?

Right, but i blieve the console writes these logs to other storage devices such as your memory units, and hard drive

My understand is that the hypervisor does a good job of holding those things under control. I could be wrong though.
You are right about this.
There was only one exploit found, not 3 or 4 like the old xbox 1 secret boot rom

nevermind guys i plad around with it and she kicked the bucket.i took the nand out and put it in a case to save incase it comes handy down the road.i tossed the mobo and took everything else.atleast i have some extra parts now for fixups Cheesy
Wow failure...
The data NAND chip is practically useless without the matching pair of CPU, and DVDKEY.
And judging on what you said earlier, it makes no sense at all.
