I now have two games that for whatever reason won't continue where I left off. i re-burnt the games thinking that perhaps the discs were bad but same result.
What in the world do gamescores have to do with my game saves not being able to play?  You guys crack me up! Ya you're a real genuis...Read his reactions to your smart "gamerscore" explaination and then call me a smartass

It's the file of destruction that microsoft plants on every console, so it can self destruct your console with a RRoD, E##, or UNPLAYABLE DISK error easily by microsoft

To his last quesiton, the bootkey is stored in the embedded rom on/next to the CPU die. The NAND also need to be swapped because it is encrypted with a unique per-box key stored in the keyvault

Meh, it worked fine for a few consoles, and the drives has been used at least 3 hours a day. No sign of damages on any of the drive syet

That's not the point. If you don't realize the pattern, R708 and R707 were once occupied by a 10k resister too. It worked fine by bridging the points. Also, the controller have a large tolerance value I believe, so there's no point worrying about breaking it.

hell no. resistors are there for a reason. if you bridge a 10 kohm resistor, you're likely letting 4-10x more voltage flow than intended. BAD idea.
Not nessesarly. I know someone who accidently desoldered the resister, bridged it together, and it still works fine.
