461  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: XBR and the !SWITCH command on: January 14, 2010, 10:53:11 PM
SWITCH! has NO EFFECT on XBR!!!

I have a cygnos and I had to get rid of the !SWITCH so that I could run XBR on my 360's NAND. Since XBR doesn't need to switch NANDs, I don't see any reason for it to be enabled by default.
462  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: is there going to be a hack for the latest dash anytime soon? on: January 14, 2010, 10:45:57 PM
A new exploit will be found in May.
463  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: i need help on: January 14, 2010, 10:45:12 PM
How about helping yourself by reading some first before you start asking questions?  That is the most basic question ever.

You need your key from your old drive.  Without it, your new one won't play games.

If you don't have your old drive anymore, you can see if you can use the jtag hack to get it, but reading it from your old drive will be alot easier.
464  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Playing game from Hard Drive without disc? on: January 14, 2010, 09:20:29 AM
If you're playing on Live everyday, you have the latest update installed (I assume not a rebooter), which means you can't use the JTAG hack.  As far as I know, a JTAG'ed console is the only way to do what you want.
465  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: How To Initiate Multiple Reads Using NandPro2 on: January 13, 2010, 10:35:44 PM
You'd still need to introduce the delay.
466  Xbox 360 / Tech Support 360 / Re: Playing game from Hard Drive without disc? on: January 13, 2010, 10:33:42 PM
You can already do this with a JTAG'ed console.  Install with NXE, then run NXE2GOD.
467  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: New Le Fluffie - creating a real HDD install now possible? on: January 12, 2010, 09:28:15 AM
I seem to remember something about how the new dashboard update makes harddrive installs smaller for many games.  (I am unfamiliar as to where the difference comes from.)  Since the rebooters use this newer dashboard, and Le Fluffie uses those installs, will this provide a space savings over using XeXloader's DVDCopy, or is XeXloader's DVDCopy already optimized enough that it doesn't matter?
468  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Cygnos v2 & JTAG question on: January 12, 2010, 08:23:54 AM
If I have a cygnos v2 am I/how able to use it just for flashing the x360 nand?

Maybe I understood that wrong?
469  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Cygnos v2 & JTAG question on: January 11, 2010, 10:34:26 PM
If all you want to do is read/flash your NAND, then just leave out the JTAG connections.  I think all you need are the quicksolder pads and RB, VCC and Ground. (None of the X's)
470  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: can you use the jtag hack without lpt port on your pc? on: January 11, 2010, 10:59:54 AM
The lpt port is used for reading/writing your NAND.

If you don't have a parallel port on your computer, you will need another way to read/write your NAND.  Cygnos360 is an obvious choice, but there are also instructions for building a USB reader/writer on these forums.

473  Research & Technical XboxHacking (Xbox 360) / Hard Disk / Re: Harddrive on: January 10, 2010, 10:59:37 AM
can i use my 3.5" hdd with 500 gig as a hard drive for the 360?

Only if it's a JTAG exploitable console, and you'll have to do some extra work to supply power to it.

...As long as they aren't false advertising ...

Not necessarily true.
Quoted from the Xecuter site for their RROD Fix kit:

DO NOT ACCEPT CHEAP IMITATIONS – THIS IS NOT A NORMAL X-CLAMP FIX !!! BEWARE OF OTHERS TRYING TO SELL YOU KNOCK OFF VERSIONS – ONLY BUY FROM XECUTER RESELLERS !

TX is a hypocrite.
Meh, I'll give you that.
477  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Xecuter LT Switch on: January 06, 2010, 09:44:40 PM
If they want to take the time to develop a product, useful or mostly useless, universal or very niche, I think they have every right to do so.  As long as they aren't false advertising (selling snake oil) than why not?

You may laugh at those Snuggie's, but the Snuggie Man is laughing all the way to the bank.

Seems like a fiberglass pen and some solder would be much better than a conductive pen.  Maybe I never saw a good one, but the end result always looked poor to me.  Like I should be concerned about longevity.

Thanks Jelle, I'm sure there are some purists who just want to play the "newest best" version but probably not enough demand to drive a website like that.  DLC seemed obvious to me, but I didn't consider systemlink.  Thanks.
