simply plan on backing up games on pc and loading to console

this is not possible at all, with the NXE update coming out on Nov 19th you can copy the games to HDD (legally) however you must have a 120GB HDD and you must also keep the game inside the console while playing that particular game (for verification purposes)

I have NXE running on 2 xbox360's and both run from 20GB harddisks. I just have less room for games (2 or 3 games fit on it). But I'm sure that 20GB will work for playing games from the harddisk. It's recommended to have a bigger harddrive (60GB or 120GB) so you wouldn't have to delete as many games from the harddrive in order to play another game from the harddrive. And still have room for downloaded content.

You can only play games of the haddrive from the originated xbox360(A) with the game disc in the dvdplayer of your xbox360(A).
So placing the haddrive on another xbox360(B) and play of the haddrive is not possible.
You then need to delete the game from the haddrive and re-backup the game to the haddrive in onder to play on the other xbox360(B) wtih ofcourse the game disc in the dvdplayer.

Playing games from the harddrive has advantages.
Older xbox360's dvdplayer make more noise while playing games then newer consoles but still make noise.
The xbox360's harddrive hardly makes any noise.
Loading time from the dvd player are slower then loading from the harddrive, so you can jump right into action (sort of).
But if this is not a problem to you then you can just be happy with a memorycard and play games from the dvdplayer of the xbox360. Lets say an xbox360 core system would do.
yes, 60 gig is what i'm going for. then do a couple mods and finds some online "torrents"  Wink

Sorry, plan to burn games to dvds, then play in 360. I didn't think I'd need a huge HD. I don't have high def. tv's nor plan on getting any. I'm trying to keep my expenses down. Modding a unit will not be my problem. It's getting the correct console to fit my needs. Thank you gigabite.

(IMHO) the term is modable ' not modibal :p nevertheless ALL Xbox 360's are able to be modded Wink

Yep, new on xbox and don't see a newbie area and I could search here for hours.... I wish to buy a 360 system and figured if it were older model, the more likely for it to be compromised. If I had to get it off ebay, what do I need to look for as indentifying it as a modibal unit? I would guess something on the back I could email the seller, to look for. Maybe they're all able to be modded. Just making sure before I drop a some $$. I do not every plan to go live with this, but 360 would be nice, over the 1st gen xbox.
Thank you
