Research & Technical XboxHacking (Xbox 360) / Software (TECHNICAL) / Re: original xbox1 dashboard on xbox 360 ?

Just found this topic, why is it in 'xbox 360 general discussion' ? Should be in hacking/research. Anyway, although I doubt that an 'unsupported' XBE will open up new possibilities, it's fun to try to get an unsupported XBE running of course So, as I understand: You guys created a DL XBOX 1 DVD and on this disc, you replaced a XBE in the demo folder with another XBE and it worked ok on a XBOX 1 ? Did this disc run on a FW modded *virgin state* xbox 1 ? And the replaced XBE would boot ? If so, then it should boot on the 360 too. If not, then the emulator checks the XBE before launching. Anyway, I like your idea Revolt ! No, the idea to replace the demos or the files was my idea, but what patito was able to do was replace the online.xbe and the offline.xbe in Tom clancy's pandora tomorrow game with the fairly odd parents default.xbe(renamed to online.xbe and offline.xbe). when ran, one of the two created what is beleved to be a IN-GAME dirty disc error. and not a 360 blade error. Im going to attempt the demos as soon as I rip the game. Means I have to flash to 2.1....UHG.. my 1.3 has worked for so long without problems.

General / XboxHacker Site Discussion / Feedback/Rating system fo the board?

One thing that I have noticed on other boards. Is having a rating system for each member. If you help someone out, you can click and vote them positive, negative, neutral. kinda like ebay. you get 2 points per vote or negative points. This could help spawn a series of useful replies, not negative smackdowns. lol. just my 2 cents. It would give people a reason to help as well.

Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 General Discussion / Re: Mouse & k/board in the future?

i know how you feel. Final Fantasy XI already uses a keyboard. as for a mouse, i don't see why it would be any different. its all software dependent. So its not up to the xbox, it relies solely on the software as far as I know. The dashboard can now use the keyboard for sending messages and such. If you want to use a mouse and keyboard so bad, just get a PC imo. its not really console gaming if you have a mouse, am I wrong for thinking this?

Redline, I was reading one of your posts over on X-S, and you said that you would have to code your program with multiple threads...which isn't necessarily the case. I don't know much about VB, but with c++ there is a function called select() which allows you to basically check to see if a certain flag has been thrown to see which part of your program needs cpu time. I used this function to handle 100's of clients in a client<>server app. This would allow you to flip flop from reading to writing based on need and data availability.
