I recall reading that all peripherals were going to have to be "approved" by MS (too lazy to find the link for you just now )

Bogus or not.... interesting dilemma. If anyone did manage to crack the security, the last place you'd be hearing people discussing it is on some PUBLIC forum. The party in question would be smart to make sure they're product worked before releasing it to an internet vendor.
I recall the first video that came out with the first xbox mod chip. Exciting times ahead.
Of course, Xbox1 v2 was cracked...right on the XboxHacker.Net forums in plain sight for all to see! If only we had the archives up...those who were around then surely remember the excitement of that thread. Others may have done it in private. but certainly in the same timeframe there were public discussions.

Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: PI releases playable demo/kiosk disc. Exploitable?

Err what the f*** are you talking about? Every thread on this forum is about illegal material.
No, it is not. I have considered banning discussion of this disc entirely; it does provide some very interesting and potentially useful technical information, but it is not something the average user has legal access to (or, perhaps, any user for that matter? I am unfamiliar with the license of the demo disc). These forums are meant for discussion leading to custom software on the Xbox 360 - through legal means. We do try hard to make these intentions known and prevent discussion of piracy or "backups" and related material, and at least keep it to a minimum.

There are some other posts here and some info at free60 about the wireless.
Just because its the same frequency as 802.11 doesn't mean much...cell phones, microwaves, cordless phones, cordless kbs, etc. can all run at similar frequencies.

This is a common anti-theft bit and can be found from many sources, check the web or plumbing supply companies, they are used Very commonly in commercial restroom hardware etc.
Maybe even ebay
What in the world are you talking about?

They will be coming back, when I get some free time :-)
If someone would like to volunteer for the task in the meantime, I am willing to take offers ;-)
The forums are in an old Invision board format that is exploitable...we need to make some conversions to get them into a free, secure board.

Hey, for legal reasons we don't allow game backup discussion here. Some people are doing it for legit reasons, but enough are not that we just keep away from the topic at XBH. Xbox-Scene forums may allow such discussions.

This thread isn't really productive anymore, I am closing it.
I hate to be the iron-handed moderator, but if I don't things will get out of hand.
These forums are first and foremost for those interested in and participating in serious hacking work. Not guessing, speculating, etc.
