101  General / General Discussion (non-Xbox) / Re: First Post and RSS feed on: January 07, 2006, 01:17:06 PM
No RSS feed currently.

100% chance of getting one set up soon. Just depends on how "soon" works into everything else going on :-)
102  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 General / Re: Booting xbox on: January 06, 2006, 04:13:07 AM
Well, it should come with the Xbox...if it doesn't boot when you turn it on, return it right away ;-)

So, the question is what do you want to boot? See www.xbins.org for a list of homebrew software.
103  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: infinitymods.com claiming to be testing modchip and selling it within 2 weeks on: January 05, 2006, 10:57:26 PM
Smiley I was wondering if people would pick up on that, hahaha!
104  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: infinitymods.com claiming to be testing modchip and selling it within 2 weeks on: January 05, 2006, 07:49:27 PM
Yeah, lets stop posting links to this stuff...

Someone with official stuff can contact me and I'd be happy to cover it, but otherwise let's not fan the fire...

(I have created a new thread and moved the post)
106  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: bluetooth on: January 05, 2006, 03:08:00 AM
I recall reading that all peripherals were going to have to be "approved" by MS (too lazy to find the link for you just now Wink)
107  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: infinitymods.com claiming to be testing modchip and selling it within 2 weeks on: January 03, 2006, 09:13:41 PM
Anyway, we'll see soon, but I expect many fakes before something real comes along.
108  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: infinitymods.com claiming to be testing modchip and selling it within 2 week on: January 03, 2006, 09:05:16 PM
Bogus or not.... interesting dilemma. If anyone did manage to crack the security, the last place you'd be hearing people discussing it is on some PUBLIC forum. The party in question would be smart to make sure they're product worked before releasing it to an internet vendor.

I recall the first video that came out with the first xbox mod chip. Exciting times ahead.

Of course, Xbox1 v2 was cracked...right on the XboxHacker.Net forums in plain sight for all to see! If only we had the archives up...those who were around then surely remember the excitement of that thread. Others may have done it in private. but certainly in the same timeframe there were public discussions.
109  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: infinitymods.com claiming to be testing modchip and selling it within 2 weeks on: January 03, 2006, 03:01:26 PM
Sheesh...just driving more traffic to this guy.

Bogus.
110  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Xbox Live Arcade and Marketplace on: January 03, 2006, 02:17:47 AM
We'll move it back if someone has packet dumps or something they want to talk about ;-) Right now, general boards should be ok.
111  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: PI releases playable demo/kiosk disc. Exploitable? on: January 02, 2006, 05:04:12 PM
Err what the f*** are you talking about?
Every thread on this forum is about illegal material.

No, it is not. I have considered banning discussion of this disc entirely; it does provide some very interesting and potentially useful technical information, but it is not something the average user has legal access to (or, perhaps, any user for that matter? I am unfamiliar with the license of the demo disc).

These forums are meant for discussion leading to custom software on the Xbox 360 - through legal means. We do try hard to make these intentions known and prevent discussion of piracy or "backups" and related material, and at least keep it to a minimum.
112  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Controller Wireless on: January 01, 2006, 09:58:07 PM
There are some other posts here and some info at free60 about the wireless.

Just because its the same frequency as 802.11 doesn't mean much...cell phones, microwaves, cordless phones, cordless kbs, etc. can all run at similar frequencies.
113  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 "Modding" / Re: how can one dismantle ones 360 on: January 01, 2006, 05:11:26 PM
This is a common anti-theft bit and can be found from many sources, check the web or plumbing supply companies, they are used Very commonly in commercial restroom hardware etc.

Maybe even ebay

What in the world are you talking about?
114  General / XboxHacker Site Discussion / Re: 360 sections on: December 29, 2005, 06:54:05 PM
They will be coming back, when I get some free time :-)

If someone would like to volunteer for the task in the meantime, I am willing to take offers ;-)

The forums are in an old Invision board format that is exploitable...we need to make some conversions to get them into a free, secure board.
115  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 General / Re: still need help on: December 29, 2005, 06:47:36 PM
Hey, for legal reasons we don't allow game backup discussion here. Some people are doing it for legit reasons, but enough are not that we just keep away from the topic at XBH. Xbox-Scene forums may allow such discussions.
116  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: PI releases playable demo/kiosk disc. Exploitable? on: December 29, 2005, 01:48:18 AM
It's a very slippery area in the first place, allowing discussion of this disc...very few people actually have legit access to this disc.
117  Xbox1 (original) / Xbox1 General / Re: I have a good question on: December 29, 2005, 01:42:46 AM
The best way to get games on your Xbox is on a retail DVD...no pirated game discussion here.

*locked* ...
118  Xbox 360 / Xbox 360 "Modding" / Re: how can one dismantle ones 360 on: December 28, 2005, 07:00:08 PM
Check the links section here on XboxHacker.Net -- there is a link to an AnandTech disassembly guide with lots of pics. It's a decent enough guide.
119  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Xbox 360 hotswap on: December 28, 2005, 06:56:49 PM
This thread isn't really productive anymore, I am closing it.

I hate to be the iron-handed moderator, but if I don't things will get out of hand.

These forums are first and foremost for those interested in and participating in serious hacking work. Not guessing, speculating, etc.
120  Xbox 360 / XboxHacking - General / Re: Xbox 360 hotswap on: December 28, 2005, 06:54:30 PM
Crosseye is receiving a warning...we don't need unproductive comments and flame wars.
