you could transfer the file and it wouldn't do anything there, for a simple reason: ALL files downloaded from live are signed. it's impossible to sign our own.

are you sure it was 3114? I know it doesn't work with 3112.. now that would suck, in that case I am f***ed unless someone writes a new app or manages to add support to mtkflash. there's no way I am gonna buy an intel MB and CPU just to flash.

there's no signature check in the dashboard, it's in the bios. and that check IS defeated. the signature itself will most likely never be cracked (it would allow you to sign your own xbe files without any chip at all).

uhm.. without modchip there's no way to boot unsigned/modified XBEs. the check is done by the system, not the dvdrom.

just means that there's an error at the very first byte already, so it can't write at all. could be a defective programmer, could be that the chip was not erased properly, or your dip settings are wrong.

what did you expect? that some company that previously announced a gamecube chip and never came through suddenly pops out a 360 modchip? they did the very same with their GC chip.. put up a website, give some very basic info, and then simply let it sit forever.

using seventhson's memdump utility and a standard hitachi xbox 1 drive (or in my case, reflashed 8163b), you can dump your own SS, and of course create the dump of the game partition, without any flashing back and forth.

memdump_win x 10200 8 8000 ram.bin (x being your drive letter)

in ram.bin, the SS of the inserted disk will be at 0x35CEC, 800 bytes long.
I compared and the SS dumped this way matches the SS dumped using the samsung SS extraction firmware 100%.

the biggest advantage is that you can unlock the drive and use bluecop's method to rip just the game partition without any swapping at all.
