it's impossible, for the simple reason that burnt media come with certain data already in place (such as the media code), there's no way to get rid of that, burner hack or not, and it's "in the way" of data that would need to go there.

also, if you can, try the flash disable trick.. remove the VCC pin from the MB so the drive boots up with a "dead" flash, then reconnect after you're in DOS.

first and second IDE channel are your normal IDE channels.

if the chipset is mapped as an IDE port, it'll be under IDE.

actually going by the port number, you simply hexedited mtkflash wrong.

the problem is simply that there's no test points in between.. except for maybe 4 pins, all of them go directly to the big SMD chip. it'll be easier to solder directly to the pins of the flashrom than of that chip.
