this is assuming he wants to use the music in games and the original dashboard. for those the above restrictions apply. all music that is ripped to the xbox 1 is listed in a database file (ST.db), and if it's not listed there, the xbox ignores it even if the file is in the right spot.

error 5 means your HD was unlocked. a softmod isn't possible with an unlocked HD, cause the xbox won't even attempt to read a HD unless it is locked. put in a modchip (a solderless chip will do), re-lock the HD in evox or configmagic, then reinstall the softmod files (or stick to the modchip).
