the CPU key is unique for every 360.

as far as I know it's NOT just a matter of the cpu key, but you also need MS' 2048 bit signature key.

*sigh* the heat can NOT soften the solder. it takes 210°C/392F to melt that solder.

remember there are well over 100 of those tiny balls all over the bottom of the gpu, any pressure with make them connect to their neighbours, and then you can trash the system right away.

to melt the solder, you have to reach 210°C/392F. By the time your system reaches that temperature, the case is a molten puddle on the floor.

there's several tutorials on the heatgunning, including video ones.. you gotta make sure to cover the entire GPU.

did you replace the heatsink compound when you did the replacement? also make sure the screws are firm and tightened evenly. did you heatgun the GPU before the replacement? otherwise you still have a broken contact there.

of course it's safe. MS would be f***ing themselves if they sold the HD as swappable and suddenly a whole load of unmodified boxes got banned.
also, they are not storing anything on the HDD, or people without HD would never get banned.

you can use it with USB in windows with hitachi drives. for the samsung, it only acts as a power adapter.

you can use it on a desktop, and can get a via based SATA card for like 10-15 bucks on ebay.

there is no way whatsoever to flash a samsung drive over USB. there's no USB support in mtkflash at all, or USB drive support for DOS for that matter.

the issue isn't heat, but that they are way too flexible and can't ensure a firm seating of the heatsink. you should try to find nylon/plastic ones somewhere.

there will be NO piracy support here whatsoever.

does your bios even detect the drive? make sure your sata ports are not set to raid or something.
or your sata chipset may just not work with mtkflash.

your mtkflash isn't patched for your sata chipset. use xtreme bootmaker.
