20cm is pretty long, you might get interferences from that. generally it should start attempting to downgrade, though.. either the addon doesn't have good contact to the points on the infectus, you miswired something or you are not using the right version of the software (0.3.8 beta 2) with the addon code (not homebrew).

the clamps do, but since heat rises, the clamps don't actually warm up. there's not much cooling the bottom will do, if you want more cooling, you'll have to do it at the top, preferably inside by transporting more heat away from the heatsinks.

the benefit would at best be tiny, since the metal shield doesn't have much of a heatspreader effect in the first place. the MB is hovering above the metal case, not contacting it directly.

I have redone all solder spots on the related traces, as far as I could follow it, they're all good. from what I can see the only missing spot left would be on the chip itself, but I can't see anything wrong on those either.

There's two theories: one is that the emulator actually contains a list of disk IDs, the other that it checks what libraries and functions are used by the game, and runs only if all are supported. the problem with patching would be that the game would very likely crash, because MS usually does check if the games work or not, and if not, they don't get added to the list.

I got a controller here where up/down stopped working on the right stick after it fell down.. the potentiometer is working fine (I measured the changes in resistance) and the connections are good, I see no missing components either.. anyone see this kinda issue before? or maybe even got an idea which pin on the controller chip is responsible for this poti?
